As Ryan ran, he could feel his own heart racing just as fast as he was pumping his legs. His breath left his body almost as soon as it was taken in. He didn't want to look behind him. He couldn't because he was sure if anything, she were likely to be nipping right at his heels. Granted, now that his hearing was clearing up and he could no longer hear the ringing, he was surprised to note that nothing was following him.
But maybe that's what she wanted him to think and was just really good at stepping lightly. And so, with that thought in his mind, the amber-eyed teen pressed on as fast and for as long as his stamina and athletic form would allow. Coming upon the tree only after three grueling minutes. He just hoped she had decided to leave Michael alone after she'd chucked him into the pond. It probably wouldn't be an easy thing for him to deal with her alone with water gripping a firm hold of his limbs.
As all of this went on in his mind, the sudden shock of being slammed into the tree when he'd gotten close enough had not only been surprising, but as painful as ever. He couldn't stop the cry of pain that had been elicited straight from his mouth. All the while, a large bruise began to form upon his forehead. He hadn't expected to stay standing though. Naturally, the force itself had easily been enough to send him to the ground for the third time today. But yet, something that happened to be digging into his hoodie -scratch that- digging into his back, seemed to be holding him up.
And so there he stood, dazed for a moment with black and red spots marring his vision as he attempted to assess what could possibly have happened at that moment. Had he tripped? He doubted that. He'd felt his feet neither catch on something nor slip upon the grass. But yet, why had he hit the tree with such force? And what was that intense pressure coming from behind him that pressed forcefully against his back?
And then a feminine but icy cold voice resounded from behind and into his ear, causing him to freeze up and his eyes to widen in fear. It was her!? But how had she managed to catch up to him so quickly!? He was fast! And he'd had a head start! There was just no possible way!
But the words she had spoken had managed to push these thoughts aside as his whole body went numb and he was left to wonder as to the hidden meaning that lie beneath them. But then the finger that gently ran along the skin of his neck made him pale considerably.
Of all things that would lick a human's blood from their knuckles, actually enjoy doing it, wield strength that surpassed that of a normal person as well as speed to boot combined with red eyes could only mean one thing. If his horror story fears had taught him anything, its that all those factors added up to one single thing...
"V-v-Vampi-Aaaahhhh!" [/color] Just as he was about to scream what she happened to be at the top of his lungs, hopefully to attract some attention and preferably some assistance, Ryan felt a pain easily akin to two knife attacks in his neck and all he could do was merely grip at the bark of the tree he was being pinned against with weakened fingers and scream at the top of his lungs at the sheer amount of pain he was feeling. The sensation of his life's essence racing out of his very body, sending a cold, chilling feeling throughout his entire being was the only confirmation he got for his cry. The blood that messily pooled around his neck and into the material of his hoodie as Andy freely but harshly drank from him would forever remain a solid reminder of what was occurring at this exact moment. Ryan's eyes slowly shut and his scream died down as the strength left his body. And as Michael finally arrived to save him from the girl's blood-drenched kiss, Ryan had already lost more then half of his strength. Should nothing be able to hold him up, the teenager would weakly drop to the ground. The deceptively cheerful gaze of the sun resting high in the sky was the only thing that kept him warmed, concious and (for the most part) alive.[/center][/blockquote]

It had been so long since she had human blood. This was amazing. Another shiver rolled through her as she drew even more blood from him. Why had she waited so long to drink blood? It only made her even more hungry. Andy sucked hungrily at his neck completely lost in her lust for his blood. The female was becoming more and more feral with each minute that passed. She was so caught up in her own lust though that she had completely forgotten about the other boy. In fact she didn't remember he existed until she was ripped away from the smaller boy. "NO!" The words were a feral cry as her fangs tore from his neck and she was thrown to the ground. Before she had time to react, a fist connected with her face and she could smell her own blood. The hit was so hard that for a second she was even dazed. But reflexes kicked in and her arms shot up to block his hits.
They were quite strong. If she hadn't been so lost in her rage she might have commented on it, but she had been hit in the face. Again. That was two time too many as far as she was concerned. Andy shifted a bit under him using her arms to block her face as she waited for the right moment. If she could at least get a decent hit in his middle she could knock him off. As he hit she finally saw her opening and grinned. Moving far faster than he ever could, one arm drew back and cracked him right in the gut. The blow was hard enough to knock him and she rolled to her feet. Wiping her nose on her sleeve, she was surprised to see a thick line of blood against the crisp white shirt. A low inhuman growl came from her as her gaze settled on tall boy. From the sound of short boy, his heart was slow and he wouldn't have anymore blood flowing through him. Mmmm she never had the blood of a gifted human before. Andy's stance shifted a bit as she locked onto her new prey. This one was better.
Deep crimson eyes assessed her prey as she shifted a bit on her feet. How to get him to slow down. A soft wind blew and the sweet smell of blood filled her nose as well as the sound of rustling leaves. The tree? Oh yes there was a tree. Grinning to show bloodied canines, the female spun on her heel and ran straight towards where short boy was. Hopefully he would think that she was going for the already spent meatbag and would follow. But he wasn't her target this time. No she wanted the other boy now. Drawing her hand back, she balled her fist and slammed it right into the base of the tree. it gave beneath her fist with a sickening snap. Using her other hand she dug into the bark and started to lift it. Any normal human would never be able to lift a tree this sized. But roots snapping and tree groaning, it pulled from the earth. Clumps of soil and grass dropped to the ground and covered the downed short boy.
Twisting her body, Andy threw the tree directly at tall boy. From what she could tell the large oak was massive and he was going to have to try and stop it. With all her strength, she sent the tree flying at him. Splinters and wood covered her hand but with a small shake they came off and she started healing. How she managed to keep her thoughts together was beyond her. But whether her body would listen to what her mind was saying was a different story. "You meatbags are interesting. I'm surprised that you have such strength, though I figure it is your gift. The boy at my feet isn't nearly as strong as you are." Andy grinned the words at the other boy as she waited for him to come at her again. She would have his blood. It didn't matter how many trees she had to throw at him. She was going to have it. Moving her feet, the female nudged the short boy checking to see he was alive. Hopefully she hadn't killed him just yet. She still wanted to play with both of them. [/style] |

If the Pureblood expected Michael to cower before her feat of strength, she had once more underestimated his kind. For, even as the slender woman heaved the mighty tree above her head and its roots dangled helplessly before him, Michael's stoicism held. Though given pause by the unexpected blow to his stomach, his tenacity won the day as he righted himself through controlled breathing- the product of a long career in the martial arts. Long before it was hurled his way, Michael was fully prepared to intercept the projectile, giving her not so much as the satisfaction of a raised eyebrow. Indeed, he was relieved that she had not gone for the throat of Ryan, who was surely nearing death's door by that point. Michael would have to hope against hope that he would be able to drag himself from the battlefield before it was too late, as he would likely be preoccupied for some time.
The warm, crisp air of that flawless day was pierced by the tree as it soared without grace or mercy, its many branches creaking and quivering and snapping while it closed in on the young man. Michael stood straight as a board, focusing his attention on the oncoming tree. In all his years, he had, admittedly, never before seen nature itself weaponized against him. However, he had much experience stopping the advance of cars, bullets, and blades alike, and his fists had been hardened by practical experience which he very much doubted this noblewoman possessed. From his perspective, he was faced with a contingency of green, witnessing only the branches diverging from the body of the tree. Viewed by a third party, it traveled quite fast, relatively speaking, but, to Michael, it was nothing more than the slowest projectile ever fired at him.
The boy once more took flight in his crude approximation of the power, leaping headlong into the mass of leaves with his fist drawn back. He was, needless to say, always one to face problems with the direct approach. For a moment, however, Michael was invisible, hidden for no more than a fraction of a second by the branches which seemed to swallow him whole. Immediately following his departure from plain sight, there was a mighty crack, sounding very much like a shotgun of especially high power had hit the tree trunk point-blank. The uprooted tree gave way under the pressure of Michael's fist, exploding into a pile of desecrated lumber and sending a small mist of splintered wood rocketing to the soil below. Through the cloud of debris stood Michael Denton, scuffed and dirty but thoroughly in-tact.
Michael shook off his fist with a grin, returning to his fighting stance with a huff. "Don't be so quick to write off us humans." He warned, staring into the eyes of his attacker. She may have been of nobler birth than he, and in the end, the fight would likely belong to her, but he would put up the fiercest struggle she had ever seen. Already, he had drawn blood; his personal goal was fulfilled. Now he need only have staved her off long enough for Ryan to crawl to safety. "We're tougher than we look -- not to mention craftier!" Hoping to take the woman by surprise, Michael swiftly reached behind him and picked up one of the larger chunks of the tree, hurling it back at her as though it were a javelin thrown by the one of the mightiest Heroes of Greek Mythology.

There wasn't much Ryan could do but lay upon the grass on his back. He was still vaguely concious. Just barely hanging on with a thread. He could feel that his whole body was cold, numb and unresponsive. He didn't have any strength left in his body. It took almost every ounce of effort he had and then some to crack his eyes open and look up into the sky. Though, he was forced to close his eyes again straight away.
He didn't have enough strength left at all...
Once again, he found himself hearing odd noises instead of the words and exchanges made my Michael and Andy. And though he did feel a slight rumble in the earth, there wasn't much else after that except for what sounded like a loud gun shot in the air. Followed by several more thuds in the earth.
What was going on around him? And... why was there a heap of dirt strewn across his body? He was drifting in and out of consciousness as it was. Though... he felt something. Something nudge at his side just a bit. Even through the darkness of his mind, he was still holding on enough to feel something like that... He had to pull through. He had to try and hold on for as long as he could. He didn't want to die here. He couldn't.
He had a family to go back to. All of them would be distraught to hear that he'd died on his first day of school. Well... except his mother. She'd just be outright embarrassed.
A barely audible moan left his lips, as if to call out to somebody, anybody, who might be within earshot. He didn't have any clue of what was going on, but he needed help. And quick.
His life was but hanging onto a thin thread. [/blockquote]

She hadn't moved from her spot for a reason. The female was learning. Her eyes were following his every move and she took in everything about him. Even when he disappeared into the tree's branches, she could still see him. With the strength he possessed the two would be battling it out all day. Neither of them seemed to be letting up anytime soon, but she did have an advantage up her sleeve. The boy at her feet let out a soft moan and she grinned. Oh perfect. It all made sense now. His fight was being fueled by his need to save his friend. How cute. Turning her attention back to the tall boy, she caught his projectile and snapped it in her hand. Enough of this nonsense. She enjoyed playing with her food but not when it would take all day. The sun shined down warming her skin and the breeze shifted her blonde locks. Carefully she rolled up the sleeves of her white shirt and placed a hand on her hip.
"I don't write you meatbags off. You are all just annoying and weak. It's nice to see the tables are turned on you here. You humans are on our territory and play by our rules." The female ran a hand through her hair taking a deep calming breath. For some reason she can not understand, she still had it all together. Yes there were moments when he body wouldn't listen and would do things like throwing a tree, but she hadn't lost it. That blind rage hadn't consumed her. Maybe she was getting soft with her going into hiding. Deep crimson eyes settled on the tall boy again and they were the only warning he had that she was truly close to slipping. As much as cool and collected as she was on the outside, there was a struggle going on inside. Leaning down to the short boy, she grabbed him by his shirt lifting him up next to her. "For some odd reason you seem determined to save this young boy. Humans were always interesting when it came to another of their kind in danger." Andy gave the short boy a small shake to clean the dirt off him.
The wound in his neck had stopped gushing blood but even then he was going to die at this rate. That same twisted grin had crossed over her face as she turned her gaze back to the tall boy. "Give me your blood. Let me have my fill and I'll heal this boy. The longer we keep fighting, the less time he has. We can keep going if you want. But I need a refresher." The female grinned letting her tongue trail over the torn flesh of the shorter boy. Blood was blood and now that she has tasted it she wanted more. It had been too long and now she was losing it because of it. A shiver rolled through her as she licked his blood off her lips but kept her gaze on the tall boy. He didn't seem to be scared. Not with his friends life on the line. Humans were tough but they can be broken. Everything can be broken with the right tools. [/style] |

In this rare moment of silence, Michael deliberated. At the woman's proposal, a great many flashes of suspicion flashed through his mind, calling out to him one after another in increasingly passionate requests for Michael to act out of rationality. That it was a trap or otherwise foolish choice to allow her to suck his blood went without saying; altruistic as he was, the gifted young man was not lacking in intelligence. Yet, there lay Ryan, bloodied and dirtied from his brief skirmish with the inhuman attacker. Motion of any kind was not feasible, and, with a barely audible whimper, the last of his vitality may as well have been wasting away before Michael's eyes. To abandon him would be folly of the highest order, beyond even allowing a Vampire to sink her fangs into his flesh. To go one step further, giving pause in his decision would all but condemn the poor boy to oblivion- something Michael Denton would not allow. His nails dug into his palm as he tightened his fist in such a way that the pale, blue veins of his forearms became plainly visible.
"Alright," said Michael at last, "you've got yourself a deal." He paused in his speech for just a moment, intending to both relax the Vampiress's guard and allow himself a few precious seconds to choose his next words. "However! I have some terms. Follow them and everyone leaves happy. Double cross me, and -- well, I could keep fighting all day if I have to." Once more, he gave his foe a moment to digest his speech. The breeze lashed at his exposed skin, freeing a portion of the water still adhering to it at the cost sending a chill through Michael's bones. Even then, the young man remained staunch and unwavering, though his snug clothing was more than ever clinging to his body. "Here's the deal I'm gonna cut you. You can suck my blood, but," he raised his index finger to eye level, "you have to heal him first. You're probably the last person I'd trust with someone else's life. Second, no sticking me in any sort of compromising position. You can't tie my hands and legs up, and you certainly can't take enough blood to kill me or render me unconscious." Michael spoke with a confidence not often found in men of his circumstances.
Tentatively, he took a step toward the woman. The second step, however, saw his feet come to an abrupt halt, thoroughly crushing the grass and leaving their mark on the soil below. His hair, quicker to dry than his garments, swayed gracefully in the wind. "And trust me, if you're taking too much, I'll know. Actually, I'll do you one better; if I start feeling faint, I promise you I'll still have enough strength left to rip your teeth out and send them through the back of your skull." Michael's eyes shifted immediately into a glare neither frightening nor bloodthirsty, but, rather, vaguely heroic. His interest was, first and foremost, the protection of the innocent bystander, powerless as he was to defend himself. To that end, Michael felt he had managed to place himself in a comparatively advantageous position. After all, speed was not worth a great deal against one of his punches thrown point-blank, especially with the recipient preoccupied by the warm blood of a Gifted Human.

He was neither aware of anything nor could he think anything. The only thing he was capable of discerning at that exact moment happened to be what touched him and if he was moved. His vision was perpetually dark and he couldn't even think. It barely even registered that he was being picked up off the ground. Thats just how far gone he really was...
What was going on in the world around him? What was happening to Michael? Was Andy still enraged and crazy now that she'd gotten what she wanted? He just had to know. He needed to know, but he was, Ryan was stuck and there was nothing he could do about it.
And what was even more was that he even seemed to be having a hard time of collecting and ordering his thoughts...
Things were getting harder to see, harder to imagine in his mind...
It was almost something like... he were fading away...
No... He couldn't go like this... He didn't want to die...
Was this... how it was...? He'd die here...? Nothing to show for it...?
First day at school and now this was the end...?
If only he'd... had a little more time...
He wanted to... start over with Andy...
And get to know Michael...
Maybe even...

Oh so he would agree? Well that is excellent. In truth she had expected him to give in, but there was a small part of her that thought he would fight back. Not all humans are so worried about those of the same species. "Very well. You can remain standing while I take your blood." Andy smiled at the tall boy showing her pointed canines. Thankfully her mindset had shifted just enough that she wasn't going to leave them both dead. Eyes swirling a lighter shade of red, she finally was gaining her control back and it was quite a task itself. Shifting her stance a bit, she made it so the boy was leaning against her and she rested her head on his shoulder. The female bit his neck again, not nearly as rough as she did the first time, but blood started to flow and she ran her tongue over the wounds. When a bite is done properly, it can be healed simply by the vampire's saliva. Her first tear into him wouldn't heal cleanly. The short boy would more than likely have a scar, but they could probably get him something for scarred skin.
Once the wound was closed, Andy dropped the boy to the ground and made her way towards tall boy. Where to bite him. Well if she wanted to be mean, she could bite him in the leg. If she tore just right he'd be down with blood loss quickly. The battle was over she had won the match. All it took was putting the life of an innocent human in danger. "You can't move until I finish. I'll try to make it as clean as possible." Andy practically purred as the breeze shifted her golden hair. The female looked positively predatory as she kept her gaze locked with tall boy's. He was brave. Most people would probably have pissed themselves when she made her way towards them. As Andy walked up to him, she moved her hand to place a finger under his chin. Carefully she tilted his head moving and exposing his neck. Then she moved, faster than he probably would have expected. Her teeth sank into deep into his neck drawing a lot blood as she pulled a decent amount from him. After a few seconds, she pulled away tearing the flesh. This time she didn't let her saliva heal the wound. Let him take care of himself.
Licking the blood off her lips, Andy stepped away from him and grinned. "With that wound I'd say you have an hour or so to get to the nurse. Just don't forget what kind of creatures you deal with around here. You humans don't have the advantage here." With a soft smile, she patted him on the cheek. Her eyes were slowly swirling to blue as she walked away from her battle. The world seemed to kick back into motion. The students went back to their lives and stopped watching. With a glance up at the sky, the female noticed the sun had moved but was still shining brighter than ever. What she needed now was sleep. Her point had been made and it seemed the rest of the students agreed with her. The humans were in Yajuu territory and they played by their rules. No need to let the meatbags think they could get comfortable here. Once this was all over with they would be gone. Andy ran a hand through her hair as she headed away from her little blood battle. What an interesting day this had been. [/style] |
