Blowing Off Steam {open}

The young kelpie girl was sulking by herself. Of course Erika wouldn’t show this kind of attitude around others, so she decided to just be by herself. The other students were so friendly and buddy buddy with each other. Erika did come off as a brat, but in truth she was a little lonely. She lied a lot to gain attention and when she did tell the truth it would just be treat as another on of her lies. Well what goes around comes around.

The small girl was swinging her feet back and forth in the water of the lake. Kelpies, creatures of water, seem to be calm around the pure liquid. Sighing, she lay on her back and left her legs just dangle in the water. She was envious of the other students who were so laid back and happy. Most probably had parents, unlike herself who never knew the true love of a parent. Her foster mother was always gone and Erika was left to just play with the village children. Her striving for attention seemed to be too pushy and she ended up being the least liked of all the children. Now she was here, once again left alone by her guardian.

Her emerald green eyes looked toward the blue sky. She, then, sat up and jumped into the lake. The place were she stood was very shallow and only came up to about her thighs. Then again her dress was getting wet, but Erika didn’t mind. She could always dry it out later.

Valus spent most of his breaks at the pond, it was a great place to unwind and just overall relax as it was, the place seemed like a perfect sanctuary that he could take some time to himself and listen to everything going that he could see.

The breeze was nice, but his own trance was broken by the sound of a small splash close by, as he looked, through the corner of his eye he saw someone walking around in the water. She looked like she didn't even care that her clothes were getting wet while she was in there. He put his hands in his pockets.

He walked past the girl and turned around slowly to get a better look.

"Having fun?" He said with a smile.

He wasn't good at talking with students. He preferred to be talking to people his age, or people he worked with.

Erika walked around in the cool liquid, letting the water flow smoothly against her skin. It felt nice and refreshing to be in the water. Completely oblivious to her surroundings, Erika touched the surface ever so slightly making it ripple at her touch. She began to walk a little deeper into the water. She was almost waist deep when she heard a voice. Startled, Erika spun around to face the speaker. Her face was a little flushed. It was a little embarrassing to be caught almost waist deep in the lake water.

She relaxed a little to see it wasn’t any of the other students. She walked a little toward the shore until she reached the thigh deep water again. “Not really, just cooling my head.” She said in a casual tone. She didn’t want to sow him a weak expression on her face. She could take care of herself. It was slightly windy right now and her long black hair kept getting in her face. Annoyed, Erika decided to put it up real quick. She always had a ponytail on her wrist. She tied it up real quick and looked back at the teacher.

She wasn’t in any of his classes at the moment so for a little bit she couldn’t think of his name. Oh, yes. It was Mr. G’Layus. She thought. Erika had no intention of getting out of the water, but at the same time the teacher didn’t look ready for scolding a young student. It wasn’t against the rules to wade in the lake. In fact some students lived off taking a dive in this lake every once and a while. “And what brings you out here Mr. G’Layus?” She asked making sure her tone didn’t have its usual sharpness.

Mr. G'Layus? He almost chuckled.

But Valus had taken his hands out of his pockets and looked at Erika. He was not at a disadvantage with this one as he was others. He knew most of the B-class students off by there voice. Their face. He spent time reading up as well on what info he was given to a point.

"Just Valus, I am not too big on formalities." he said with a smile on his face. As he smiled he looked around to see what was going on.

"Well, I like to take a break from my work in order to get some fresh are or even just some time alone where I can think of what I need to do for Ro- for the Head." he said his smile not leaving his face.

He defiantly was a friendly character so he tried to be friends with people as he could so students would enjoy the classes as it was.

"What about you?"
