NICKNAMES: Kit, Kitty, whatever else people come up with
AGE: Eighteen
GENDER: Male
RACE: Demon; Incubus
CLASS: S
PLAY BY: It's my own drawing ^^;;[/ul]
I SWEAR TOGETHER WE'VE BEEN
here before but we never looked away
here before but we never looked away
HAIR: Black as the starless night sky.
SKIN: Quite pale, his fair skin exemplifies that of someone who does not go out in the sun very often. Yet, in some way, it seems to add to his overall appearance – he is not pale in a sickly, or disgusting sense, but pale in a way where it highlights his black hair and vibrant eyes, bringing out his pink colored lips and other details of his face and form.
BODY: Lithe, graceful with slight muscular definition.
UNUSUAL: None, he is pierce and tattoo free~ (Even though he could, probably, be easily pressured into it by nearly anyone – especially other S Class students, and even more so by demons and yet, even more so by boys he likes and may be trying to impress).
OTHER FORM: Kitvael’s dream form is in a way similar, yet completely different, from how he often appears. Instead of his shy hairstyle, where it covers one half of his face in a discreet and innocent manner, his dream form’s hair doesn’t cover his face in such a way. In fact, it seems to flow in various manners, always framing his face in a beautiful ebony, contrasting noticeably with his luminous, crimson eyes that have a more masculine quality to them in this form – more slender, still large, but exquisitely so. In some ways, his eyes could be comparable to a vampire’s in terms of intensity, holding a sense of confidence completely alien to his physical self. One other matter is that, in dream form, he stands around six feet tall – his body still slender and graceful, yet also leaner, slightly broader shoulders that fit a male’s form instead of the narrower shoulders of his human appearance. A brilliant, elegant pair of raven black wings – feathered all the same – will noticeably protrude from his back, he often presenting himself with one resting in front of his body. All the same, his flesh takes on a more purple color – a beautiful, light purple that gives him a sense of being a demon, and yet gives a sense of beauty, especially with how well it contrasts with his midnight black hair and ebony colored nails, many of which are raised to wickedly sharp points. His lips will also take on a darker purple color, almost as if he was wearing lip gloss – his canines will poke mischievously over his bottom lip, a look that can also be construed as innocent if someone looked at him at the right angle. Last but not least, he has a tail – long, thin and adding a type of charm to his overall appearance.
Due to having such a drastically different appearance in dreams, with an apparently different type of personality (likely borne from a sense of confidence, a sense of pride in his ability to enter and craft dreams – a place where he knows what will happen, where he feels in control), Kit often chooses to appear with different clothing options – things he wouldn’t dare wear in real life. For one, his pants are often tighter to his form, placed lower – showing off quite a bit of his pelvis, without drifting over into indecent exposure. His pants have to be lower though, so he doesn’t completely smother his tail, or cut off its circulation (Kit hasn’t completely been able to separate pain from himself in dreams, at least in cases he can’t anticipate or think of a way for it to be avoidable). Otherwise, he wears a long, black colored coat that hangs loosely about his body, a fishnet shirt all he wears underneath – an easier appearance to compensate for his wings, plus it simply works from the perspective of an incubus. It’s seductive, it shows off his form without showing off too much, and in a way, he likes it. As a side note, his soft spoken, meek voice is also quite a bit smoother and deeper – a charming sort of deepness, one that echoes throughout the dream and captivates a listener, a voice that speaks more beautifully than the most talented vocalist. Although his physical voice is just as good in song, that is roughly the only time – in reality – where Kit can make use of this voice, outside for when he takes on the full form of his incubus self – something he hasn’t actually done before (due to never having a need for it, for anything).
His physical form can take on all the features of his dream form, though it’s a slower transformation as the human illusion slowly flickers out. When under stress, or when in an emotional situation, Kit’s eyes are usually the first to change – going from their usual, vibrant purple to that luminous crimson, his round pupil turning more cat-like. His teeth usually become sharper at first, his nails showing off their demonic glory before his wings, which are then followed by the change in his skin color. The second to last change is his body taking on the stature it is of his dream form, tail and all, though the final addition is a pair of ivory horns, which are swept back at a fairly extreme angle – flowing with his hair and his head, almost impossible to compare with an animal due to how well they accentuate his appearance and truly conclude his demonic persona. He doesn’t need to feel high levels of stress, or emotion, to appear as his incubus form – he can do so if he wanted, whenever, but he likes to obey school rules and, in a way, he feels like it doesn’t suite him so well in reality.
In this full incubus form, pending on how he went into it, he may seem more confident and have different standards about some subjects. If he undergoes this transformation due to stress, a simple losing control of the human illusion, then he may lash out angrily at whatever is causing him distress – this has yet to actually happen, but it would fall into a case of feeling so much pressure that he would just snap. (Explained in more detail within the “Overall” section).
APPEARANCE: Kitvael, often preferring to go by Kit, usually wears various collared shirts. Many of them fit to his lithe form and match pleasantly with his pants, which are generally some variation of denim jeans. His attire generally changes from day to day, though he is a fairly modest person -- not someone who feels comfortable dressing for show, for he simply lacks the confidence to really step out of his comfort zone and he simply doesn’t see himself in a most attractive light (despite him holding quite attractive qualities). Even his shoulder-length, black hair covers the left half of his face, sort of a tell-tale sign of how shy and insecure he can be when encountering new people for he often tries to fit in and be accepted by those he comes across. Otherwise, he stands around 5' 6" and always seems to be carrying about a small, black colored notebook even when he has no classes -- he often spills his guts out in this book, writing about his feelings, emotions, hopes and desires for the future along with some stories and poetry. Otherwise, there is not much else remarkable about Kit – he is a very handsome boy, but with his insecurities and with how he carries himself, he seems more like a little kid than an eighteen year old – he even looks younger, with his smooth and fair skin coupled with his large, bright colored eyes. Otherwise, he considers himself fairly average and he never tries to do anything that will distinguish him, at least around others, for he fears being placed in the spotlight (which means he rarely shows off his writing talent, or his poetry, or his art to anyone – unless he comes across someone particularly kindhearted, who he feels like he can trust and feel comfortable around). If asked, however, he will cook food for a roommate or a friend, for that’s one activity he deeply enjoys – it puts him in a lighter mood, he often humming as he goes about the activity. While cooking, Kit will actually become more outgoing – it lowers his inhibitions and, somehow, heightens his self-confidence. If someone wanted to get to know him better, a cooking class, or a day of baking would be one of the best ways to go about it.
Usually he’ll carry around his notebooks and supplies from class to class, without a bag, although he sometimes chooses to use a messenger bag he owns to help carry his things if he knows he’ll be walking a long ways, or if he knows he’ll be around people he doesn’t know too well. Either way he’ll still have a nervous look about himself, especially if he is in a situation where he doesn’t know anyone. He prefers to pick seats near the front of classrooms, as he feels more secure where the teacher can see him and it helps if he is ever called on, as he has a very soft, shy voice that doesn’t travel very far (he’s very self-conscious about raising his voice, mostly for his voice is lighter to the ear – it sounds a tad on the feminine side, versus the masculine side, and it’s simply another insecurity. This is the voice he uses when not appearing as an incubi or singing, and it’s not something he knows to control at this point).

TWO SEATS INSIDE AN EMPTY ROOM
with one more night what’s left to lose
with one more night what’s left to lose
* Writing
* Reading
* Drawing
* Learning
* Boys, generally those who are older than him.
* Ice cream/other sweet foods
* Singing, fairly good at it, though he usually keeps it to himself.
* Poetry
* Nature
* To be talked to, for he fears to initiate actual conversation and he’s more comfortable responding to things.
* Quiet atmospheres
* People who are nice to him
* Daydreaming
* Sleeping
* Having his mind and talents challenged in a positive way, for he sees this as a way to better himself in some manner.
* Kit really likes to help others, even though he sometimes holds himself at bay due to how shy he can feel -- he's not very outgoing, if at all.
* Cute animals (Kittens, puppies, bunnies, hamsters, etc…)
* Gardens, flowers (Particularly the rose, as he just finds it incredibly beautiful)
* Romance (Be it in real life, novels, or his own writings or drawings)
* Being held, hugging
* Enjoys it when people hit on him, even if it seems to make him flustered (Particularly enjoys it when boys hit on him, though he also likes getting compliments from girls as, either way, it makes him feel like he's attractive and it boosts his self confidence a little). He also doesn’t care to the extent – from cheap quotes taken from pop culture media, to a physical contact of some kind.
* Kit does like the idea of cross dressing, in fact he'd likely be hard to distinguish as male if he ever went through with it, though he often keeps this desire to himself for fear of being mocked by his peers, or seen as a social undesirable (he also doesn’t want to be known as “that weird, cross dressing, gay demon kid” – he might wear nail polish sometimes, as he likes the colors, but otherwise he tries to keep all that a secret).
* Enjoys people who are kinder, people who won't harp on him for his little quirks and who might help him become better when it comes to talking to people, like pointing out his mistakes and offering an alternative rather than yelling at him, or making fun of his error.
* Instrumental music
* Cooking – Kit loves cooking, especially baking deserts. This is another thing he often tries to hide, as with his parents it was beaten into him as a negative trait in a male and he doesn’t want to be picked on for it.
DISLIKES:
* Loud noises
* Obnoxious smells
* Spicy/sour foods
* Stereotyping and prejudice
* People who are mean to him, or manipulate him and treat him more like a tool than a living being.
* Confrontation, Kit far prefers finding a peaceful resolution to a situation, though he will fight if he believes his life is on the line (or the lives of people he considers his friend, or a romantic interest).
* Art snobs
* Spiders and such other insects
* People who harm wildlife, regardless of what it is, for no reason.
* Violence (sort of falls under confrontation)
* To be betrayed by someone whom he cares about.
* Being stuck in the school for most of the time, he has very romanticized ideas of what the rest of the world may be like, or what exploring it would be like, and so he daydreams often during classes and his learning takes a hit there. (Rest of the world, as in, places like New York City, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, etc… --he’s been to Denver and he’s been around New Mexico).
* Loneliness
* To be hated by his peers, or thought of as less than his peers
* Being put on the spot
* Large groups
* Parties
* Large social gatherings
* Reading his work to the class, or giving any sort of presentation
* Insults
* Blind arrogance
* He really doesn’t like the class system, as he doesn’t feel like any one specie should be seen as “better” than any other, and he often finds himself interested in what C or D class students do as, from his perspective, they would be the ones who would have to rely a lot more on thinking, planning and strategizing and that interests him a bit. Plus, even as an S-Class student, he’s not particularly good at fighting – he can if he feels the situation warrants hit, though he often supplements it with his powers and abilities – but usually he’ll stay in his human form and take the pain. In many cases, if he’s ever in a fight in the first place, he might feel as if he deserves it – thinking he pissed off this other student, or hurt this other student, or did something that warranted the other student wanting to beat him upside the head. Due to this, he could probably be bested by D class students who just wanted to take out their anger on someone.
* His adopted parents, and all that they put him through
* Humans
STRENGTHS:
* Writing, one of Kit’s goals in life is to become a published romance novelist, one who is able to combine fantasy and romance in stories that don’t lean too far one way or the other. Generally, the stories he writes are focused around two males – he finds it easier to write romance in that manner, versus with one male and female, as he finds the latter boring to write. From his perspective, all of those stories were the same – boy meets girl, or vice-versa, they go on dates, yadda yadda yadda. He prefers to find interesting dynamics for characters, be it a social taboo or something that hasn’t really been done to death yet.
* Drawing
* Reading, Kit often reads in order to escape the world he’s in – often drowning his thoughts in romance novels, or fantasy novels – or a mixture of the two. When he reads he generally gets absorbed in the content, even during classes, which leads to him being easily surprised by people who might tap him on the shoulder, or slam a book down nearby.
* Singing, oddly enough he has quite a talent for singing even though he usually doesn’t speak much louder than a whisper.
* Cooking, Kit loves to cook. Particularly, he loves baking cupcakes, cakes, cookies, pancakes, and anything else that’s horrible for one’s health. He has a bit of a sweet tooth, which is why he’s more skilled at baking than cooking anything healthy, but he can make dinners, lunches and breakfasts that are healthy quite well. Generally he’ll follow instructions for the first few times before trying new things, never one to serve something he’s dissatisfied with. For any potential roommate, this could be a plus – not having to cook, cheaper meals, etc.
* Caring for small animals, plants and is very empathetic towards others.
* Fast and agile, limber
*Can be quite graceful, though this depends on his confidence level – when he’s more self-conscious, he’s more prone to error when not.
* Very fast learner. In many ways, Kit could have an easier time learning a new language, or learning an instrument than some other students if only because he listens and is able to manipulate his voice and tongue, or fingers and speed, in order to mimic that of an instructor. It’s not a literal mimic, but that’s simply what he tries to accomplish – it generally works out quite well, and so, he is the better student in many subjects he actively enjoys. (Whereas, his math skills have a lot to be desired).
* Charm members of the opposite sex , although Kit doesn’t use this ability so much. Since he prefers males, it’s not something he really feels like he should use – why would he need it? However, he does know that there are some applications of this ability that could, possibly, help him in the future – namely, if the person interviewing him for something happened to be female, or if he needed to distract a girl for some reason or another.
* Induce sleep
* Invade the dreams of his victims, this is one ability Kit doesn’t use too often. Of the times he has used this ability he has shown to be quite adept with it, likely a product of his creativity and his ability to create a fantasy and pretend like it’s real – not quite lying, as he’s doing this in the imagination, but he can convince himself that what is true is no longer true and what is false is now true, allowing him to alter and change dreams very easily as his perception of reality doesn’t bind him to rely purely on world physics.
* Kit is quite skilled with dreams, skilled enough to where he can induce sleep upon a target and when lethargy and fatigue takes route, mind going back and forth from rest to alert, he can slip in and create a dream then – one that manifests as a daydream would, a hallucination or a sort of illusion. This skill requires quite a bit of concentration on Kit’s part, but it can cause a victim to see distorted reality – things that seem so real, and yet are completely imaginary. He often designs this as a nightmare, to cause his target to stay away from him if he feels threatened.
WEAKNESSES:
* His emotions are some of his greatest weakness, primarily his self confidence. It's already fairly weak, and shattering it by going onto tirades of how worthless he is often make him feel unmotivated, depressed and it effectively kills his will to really put up a fight if he's in one.
* Hot guys, he'll easily be distracted by passing eye candy. At the same time, if he is particularly enthralled with his opponent, he may be caught in a bit of a daydream and leave himself open for an attack. This has happened to him in classes where sparring was part of the curriculum, so it’s not uncommon knowledge that one way to beat Kit in a fight – outside of simply seizing the opportunity his pacifist self generally gives – is to act in a more risqué manner, at least for male opponents. The same doesn’t work with females as he’s not interested in the female form. This sometimes affects his grades – if he’s really taken by a teacher, odds are that Kit will spend most of the class daydreaming and staring off in a way not unlike a schoolgirl with a distracting infatuation.
* Doesn’t trust easily, this is a weakness in an academic sense. In many cases he won’t go to the teacher for help when he needs it, often trying to rely on using the internet and trying to work it out all on his lonesome. He’s scared of authority figures – in the case of Akashibai, he knows he really shouldn’t fear them as they all seem like nice enough people, but it’s an emotional response he hasn’t yet dealt with.
* His ill feelings towards violence could be exploited as a weakness, for if he won't die in a situation, he'll freely choose not to fight -- which means he'd take a fist to the face and do nothing in return. This can change pending on his mood, like if he was incredibly pissed off he might choose to fight back.
* Obnoxious smells, such as rotting flesh, it can make him feel physically ill and -- during a fight -- it can physically weaken him, pending on the scent, for when his stomach churns and turns he often becomes fairly wobbly on his legs.
* Very weak when holy objects, of any nature, are put into his presence. It locks off access to his magic, and it also locks off his ability to manipulate blood -- weakening his senses as well.
* Gilgy is a weakness of his – he loves that bear, and if someone were to take it, he’d basically do anything they wanted him to do to get it back. That or be emotionally impaired, as in, crying (sad, depressed) a lot. But who would be that mean?
* Kitvael is incredibly easy to pressure into doing things; this can easily be exploited by people who might want him to be ensnared in a situation that could cause him trouble, in some way or another. (For instance, he can be pressured to go into the city – even where it’s breaking rules – provided some others go with him. Someone who might hold something against him could easily inform proper faculty, or the Akashibai Academy Defense Squad, in order to get him in trouble of some magnitude).
* He is very touchy about his parents, his real parents, as he likes to hold onto the hope that they were decent people who had to give him up due to circumstances out of their control. In a way, it’s one of the things that keeps him happy – he likes to entertain the thought of meeting his father and mother, his real ones, to ask all the questions he had to, to have the support he craved when he was younger. If someone were to insult his parents, it could get him worked up – likely something of an angry and sad mixture of emotion.
SECRETS:
* His impulse to cross dress is one secret he won't tell anyone, unless he comes to believe that he can trust someone.
* His love for cooking and wishes to learn gardening, as he feels insecure about the things he likes that are more traditionally seen as “girly,” largely due to how his adopted father treated him due to it.
* Doesn’t like to talk about his family and history, he feels incredibly insecure talking about it and it’s one of those tender, emotional issues that could be used like a weapon against him.
* One thing that really appeals to him are relationships with people older than himself, which means he often crushes on teachers and writes about those feelings in his notebook. He’s worried about being judged for it or that – if the notebook were confiscated – that it’d be read by a teacher he likes, and that idea alone terrifies him to no end.
* He loves things like chocolate; this is a secret as he can get talked into doing some stupid things if chocolate is involved as a reward. Kit knows it makes him very easy to manipulate and use, so he doesn’t tell people about it, after all, he doesn’t want people to use him or have him make fun of himself. (Through the bribery of chocolate, it’d be pretty easy to convince Kit to wear something he otherwise wouldn’t think about wearing.
* He often tries to keep his sexual orientation a secret, he doesn’t know if people will make fun of him for liking other guys and he’s the type who wouldn’t want to find out. It’s not a particularly closely guarded secret, as anyone paying attention to him could probably easily figure it out as his eyes do wander a lot during classes, and he often gets more flustered and nervous around other boys in comparison to girls. He mostly keeps it to himself as, in the past, he’s received some flak for it – especially when he was in the public school system – and he’s come to think of it as a negative, undesirable trait and in his quest to become accepted by his peers, he tries to keep any potentially undesirable traits a secret.
* Otherwise he’ll keep things like crushes, and some of his more tender feelings, secret from people.
* He still sleeps with a teddy bear, he named it Gilgamesh – not for any historical reason, he simply likes saying the name. Often he’ll shorten it to “Gilgy” but this is one of the things he keeps to himself, as an eighteen year old boy who still sleeps with a teddy bear – particularly, a demon boy – might be ammunition to those who may not like him all too much.
* His history in general, he really doesn’t like talking about the private school he had gone to nor does he like going into detail about how he used to make money in the past in order to travel from the boarding school in New Mexico to Denver, Colorado. Sometimes he can get worked up on the subject if bothered by someone for information, after telling that person “no.”
OVERALL: Kit is an incredibly shy, incredibly introverted young demon who often keeps to himself due to fear of others judging him. Despite his apparent affinity for being alone, Kit actually desires to have friends he can talk to, people he can trust and speak with when he needs to, and people he can have casual conversations with about things he might like, or about things they like. Although he's often drawn to people who are more confident than himself, trying to find out how they can be so reassured so that he may up his own self-confidence, he has an incredibly hard time approaching anyone to say so much as "hello." When it comes to new people, he often stumbles and stammers over his words and sentences, trying to think of what to say as he's speaking. In a way he might be seen as "cute" in that regard, though cute more like a nervous kitten. He tries, many times, to better his self-confidence -- trying to put himself into social situations, and trying to forget what people think about him. It's easier said than done, and without any friends to really help him along, he often caves in too early and has a history of becoming petrified when ensnared in large groups, just gripping an arm while staring off at nothing -- like a deer caught in headlights. Despite all this, he takes great confidence in his writing ability; often feeling like that is his true talent, despite being a fairly intuitive student. One other reason why he doesn’t show off his writing and art is because he doesn’t want people to brutally criticize it, as in a way, it’s his heart written down on pieces of paper and he can just be incredibly sensitive about his writing and how others view it. The last thing Kit would want would be someone harping on a romance piece he may have toiled for hours on, as many of the romance pieces he write are forms of alternate realities for his mind – somewhere off where someone loves him, or at least his persona, and treats him kindly. Receiving a message of “this is garbage” simply hurts his feelings, makes him feel stupid for even writing in the first place and he may drag himself off to brood about it, not going back to writing for days – maybe weeks, or months.
Unlike many others, Kit won't knowingly flirt with people. Sometimes it comes out of him naturally, though nothing as overt as a cheesy pick-up line or an old, clichéd compliment strategically injected into conversation. In many regards he fears rejection, he doesn't know who is and who isn't interested in other men and the last thing he wants to do is hit on a straight guy -- accidentally or not -- only to end up getting punched in the face, or told to buzz off. Simply, it makes him feel like an idiot and he'll be put into a depressed mood for the rest of the day, sometimes debating whether or not he should apologize. One thing he does do, in some cases, is try to mold his personality to fit the group he is with -- if he's stuck with people who really love sports, he might only make comments relating to sports (even though he knows nothing with regards to sports) and try to appear as if he has some inkling of interest in it. A lot of the time this plan backfires and people leave him alone after he sits by quietly, not really participating in the conversation. However, he may take a kindly worded rejection well – one where he knows he didn’t do something wrong.
It’s pretty easy to tell if he’s crushing on someone, as he’ll generally blush a lot and look away, often playing with his hair as well. If he’s dragged into a conversation with someone he has a crush on, he may ask a lot of questions – some which may seem stupid, like “what’s your favorite color” or “how was your day” and other similar inquiries. Oddly, he might actually stammer less and speak faster, in a sort of excitement that would be pretty easy to tell from simply looking at his face. He’ll also be more emotionally sensitive, which just means that his facial expression might change often, as would his tone and his thoughts might go from positive to negative pending on how the other person is interacting with him.
Perhaps unlike some students, Kit holds a long time desire to be in a romantic relationship with someone. In fact, he often draws and sometimes writes some of his daydreams down when he feels particularly bored, though this also leads to why he hides his notebook from people -- he doesn't want the students (or teachers) he might crush on to find those writings and drawings, out of fear that they'd be weirded out and would decide to pass nasty rumors about him to everyone else. Due to his fear of being judged by everyone, in a negative light, he doesn't open up easily -- in fact, the only people he might open up with would be some teachers, though he'd be more awkward around teachers he may have had a crush on, for he wouldn't really want to divulge that information.
Even though he is an incubus, Kit isn’t the type of person to make use of his natural-given seductive abilities on females. Simply, he’s not interested in girls like that – he only likes males, but since he can’t charm any male he sees, he generally is more insecure around boys he likes. In a way, he sees himself as an unattractive person – not because of any reality, but because he just thinks so lowly of himself in comparison to others. Plus, he also hasn’t run into a guy who would willingly go out with another boy, so he usually doesn’t try too much – mostly fear of rejection, with a wish to not bother anyone, or make anyone feel awkward around him.
In his dream form, or full demon form, his personality seems to change quite a lot. For starters, he’ll feel and look more confident – he feels more powerful, more in control when he’s in a dream and he feels the same with his incubus form, for it has a far more alluring, sexy sort of atmosphere than his smaller, meeker form (which is more accurately him if that makes any sense – his small meek form is the real Kit, while his incubus form is running off the feeling of confidence given to him from being in control, for knowing what will and will not happen – what can and cannot happen – and this form isn’t tied to social protocol like Kit feels his usual form is [besides for one instance, described in the last paragraph of this section]). As a full-appeared incubus, he isn’t cocky – just confident that what he does will work out, although he won’t be against rethinking a situation or coming up with ways to get out of a potential mess. The most drastic change is as a combatant, for Kit will only pull out this form if he means serious business – as in, he’s willing to kill or be killed, to maim or be maimed. Due to how much Kit despises real violence, he doesn’t get like this much – one thing that could set him off, though, would be if someone were viciously attacking someone he deeply cares about, be it as a friend, but especially if a boyfriend. Otherwise Kit, in general, is hard to actually anger – someone would have to deliberately be out to piss him off, or to get a violent emotional response out of him.
While the incubus manifestation of himself may seem to be completely different from Kit, almost similar to a different personality, that’s not quite an accurate assessment. Throughout his life, Kit has more often than not suppressed memories of violence – such as many vicious bullying encounters, the majority of his abuse as a child and treatment by parental-like figures. Due to this, he has also suppressed a lot of his emotions, namely, anger and hate. For while Kit is quite hard to anger, and hardly hates anything – even disliking to use the word due to its strength – all of these negative emotions have pooled more into his subconscious mind and the unconscious mind. If he were to let go of his human form due to stress or powerfully volatile emotions, essentially the floodgates from his sub and unconscious mind open – filling himself with these emotions, which are often expressed through violence and destruction. In such a highly volatile emotional state, he’d pick a target and rail on it for no other reason than to vent and, likely what got him to that point, the target would’ve been the most recent source of any negative feelings, thus he’d feel justified in attacking it as viciously as he wants. So it’s not a separate personality, it’s simply an augmented personality that occurs when releasing all of his pent up anger, hate, spite and fury – as those emotions mix and overpower his more mellow ones. Think of it in terms of someone snapping due to pressure, or snapping due to someone else pushing the wrong button after years of ignoring that the button existed. (But only in the instance where someone does push that oversensitive button).
Note: If Kit willingly takes on his incubus form, not tying it to a dream scenario or due to expressing incredibly volatile emotions, he’ll still be shy and a little awkward socially. Sometimes he can get over it faster, getting to know people at a quicker pace as people might seem more interested him – this is him as an incubus, after all, and this appearance is quite a captivating one. HISTORY:
When he first appeared in Andrea’s and Vincent’s lives, Kit had been a baby placed upon a doorstep. It is unknown if Kit’s real parents hold relation to the Ravenharts or not, but for one reason or another, they left him in their care. Of course, upon receiving a child the couple were, oddly, quite enthusiastic about taking care of the “cute little thing.” At such a young age Kit didn’t appear any different from any human, looking as normal and fine as ever – in a way, Kit himself doesn’t understand this, but he figures that his parents may have put some sort of spell, or used some sort of power or ability, in order to keep him in an inconspicuous form for numerous years – at least, until Kit could intuitively copy the ability unconsciously, sort of a mind over matter sort of deal – he believed he was human, therefore, he was able to keep the appearance of one. Regardless, when Kit was but a baby wrapped in a few blankets, no name had been left for him.
Initially his adopted parents had taken to calling him Adrian, both agreeing on that name for some time when they had Kit. However, when they would take him to religious ceremonies at their local church, or even present some basic imagery to him, it would cause him to go into monstrous fits. At times it would merely be crying, though there were plenty of times where Kit would fall unconscious, become ill, or simply seem physically impaired in some manner. After taking him away from the church, and after removing the symbols, he would revert back to his normal self – as a God-fearing couple, this caused quite some concern. Was Kit possessed? Was he a spawn of the Devil himself? Was he part of some terrible event, some terrible history? Through all of their conjectures, neither could figure out precisely why Kit would behave as he did during ceremonies and other religious events. Even after getting many medical reports back, nothing was ever said to be wrong with him – he was as healthy as could be, physically, though his parents figured that there might have been a spiritual problem with him, instead.
They changed his name to Kitvael, partially for the suffix of the name – for, within their belief system, the “el” denotes “angel” or “messenger of God” and they wished dearly for Kit to be well again. However, they could not name him after any angels, of any religion, for the names themselves would have an adverse affect on him when applied to him – a much lesser effect than before, but the couple felt horrifically guilty by causing such a young infant pain. So instead, they made one up – Kit, taken from what baby foxes are commonly called, as to preserve innocence, the “va” merely used for stylization of the name they created, hoping to smooth it out and make it sound more regal and less like “kettle.” The name, based on what his adopted parents wished it to be, was designed to mean “innocent messenger of God” which was mostly done in hopes that, perhaps by having such a name, Kit’s aversion to any and all things holy would be circumvented.
For a time it seemed to have worked, particularly from when he turned five and up to when he turned nine. To some, it may have seemed as if his demonic aversions were subdued by his feeling that he was purely human, never thinking for a moment that he might be different, for he never accidentally tapped into his powers at this point, nor did the illusionary human form ever fade. But when he turned nine, the aversions came back – as if fluctuating, sometimes manifesting horrifically, while other times staying undetectable. In many cases it had to do with how Kit would see himself, as when he became more drawn into make-believe and fantasy, when he freely thought of himself as inhuman, those physical aversions came back and for his parents, it threw them back to his infancy. Fearing that this may have been some supernatural, evil doing the couple hired an exorcist to try and help Kit – and so, Kit was given an exorcism.
For Kit, that entire ordeal was brutally painful. In fact, it would be hard to describe how painful it was for him without comparing it to psychological and physical torture. Throughout the whole event his skin felt as if it had been set aflame, he would be riddled with spasms and feelings of intense sickness to intense pain, pain that only got worse whenever a religious relic touched his skin. For every second he hated it, hated it more than anything – at a point, he fell unconscious, completely silent and unmoving, and that was when the whole ordeal was put to an end. Of course, such reactions are sometimes common among patients – psychology itself could have had an effect, for perhaps Kit did believe something had gone wrong with him, which would only cause pain when any pastor would work. In some cases it was real pain, in others it was in his head – the brain can often make fantasy seem reality, at least in this particular manner.
It had been a failure, in the eyes of his parents. Everything they had done to help him had failed; everything they had done had only put him in worse health and strained the trust he had in his adopted parents. As if out of fear, they began to treat him differently – they casted him aside, ignored him and tried to forget he even lived within their household. This sudden change of treatment spurred on Kit’s desire, almost a need, for friends – even though he finds it so hard to trust people nowadays. At nine years of age, Kit’s psyche was already in search for a different caregiver, someone who wouldn’t just throw him food and let him bathe on occasion, but someone who would pay attention to him, give him support, treat him like an equal and give him love.
Kit never had many friends throughout his life, in fact, he largely only ever knew his two adoptive parents -- both of whom never seemed to care much for Kit as their son post age nine, and when their mood towards him turned for the worse, they would harp on him for any misgiving – no matter how minor. His father, Vincent, often lambasted him for not acting like a man, for not wanting to play any sports, for not having friends, and there were many heated moments where his father would become particularly angry with him, such as the one time Kit had come across nail polish -- he found it amazing, as he could paint his nails his favorite color which, to him, seemed perfectly innocent – his father confiscated the items, threw them out, and tore into Kit’s sensitive emotions by going on and on about how messed up he was, how much of a failure he was and how horrible a child he was. In many cases, Kit always felt like a failure -- his father would brutally tear down his dream to write novels, he would criticize Kit's drawings and artwork into oblivion, whether or not such critique was truly warranted. In many ways, it made Kit feel like a useless weight to his family, feeling like his father didn't really want him around -- or wanted him to be an entirely different person. His mother was much the same way, going on about how he was throwing away his future by spending so much time reading "useless old books" and how he would spend his time writing fictitious stories, or poetry and so forth. Kit never felt like anything he did was right, and even his exposure to other kids at such a young age had given him a predisposition to fear of societal judgment.
In a way, Kit was almost relieved when they sent him to a private boarding school – a religious one. Since he was and is a demon, he always felt weak there – the amount of holy objects always around, from crosses to books to candles and so forth, were primarily what weakened him. Due to how he would react at this school, the clergy hated him. They thought him to be a spawn of the Devil, for who other than the tainted and unholy would react so bitterly towards their sacred tomes and devices? Kit wouldn’t even pray during the ceremonies, or during meals, nor was he ever one to read the Bible or apply his mind to the studies they provided him with. So they treated him poorly. Instead of treating him like a student, they would go out of their way to harp on him – humiliating him in front of entire classes when he’d do any minor thing wrong, screaming at him constantly, grading him harshly and even physically abusing him.
Before Kit had gone to this school, he had been lucky to not have been hit – his adopted parents never seemed to want to touch him, perhaps a fear of whatever “taint” he was said to carry. The teachers, the counselors and people he knew at the boarding school, however, abused him constantly. Bruises became a common part of his physical appearance; during this time he generally used bandages to cover them up, using his long black hair to hide a black eye from time to time – this being the infamous origin for his current choice of hairstyle.
A series of events that stand out to Kit the most, events he does not talk about – and only would talk about to someone he deeply trusted – were events where he was “misused” by one of the counselors. Through his eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth years he had been instructed to see a counselor for “spiritual guidance” and he poured out a lot of his feelings and secrets to this counselor – he easily recalls all the times he had cried there, desperately looking for someone – anyone – to support him in some way. With all of this emotional ammunition, with all of the things Kit had said and admitted to in the office, it was incredibly easy for this counselor to manipulate him during his young age. Suffice to say, it permanently harmed Kit’s ability to easily trust people and to open up to people, as all too often he fears that the things he would say would be turned against him, used like a weapon to once more get him to take part in shameful acts he would later wish never happened. Due to the embarrassment and shame he feels from these few years, he never talks about.
When he was younger, other kids often mocked him for the most trivial things. He would be called quite an array of unpleasant names for multiple reasons: sometimes people would harp on him for spending so much writing, so much time with his nose stuck in a book, for the amount of time he would spend alone, for playing with flowers and liking the idea of gardening, for how he would write valentines for other boys and not girls. Other kids would mock him for things like the nail polish fiasco, and his teachers back then were never really supportive of him in the first place. He never felt like a useful person to anyone, and without the support of even his adopted parents, he developed a sense of inferiority to everyone else -- losing almost all of his self confidence and self respect in the process. He became prone to depression and wouldn't leave his dorm room for days on end, though no one ever really showed any sort of concern about it -- they simply ignored him.
Kit's adopted parents are not demons. To them, the fact he had strange abilities and could change his appearance so drastically frightened them – they began to treat him like he was a monster, an abomination and something to feel shame of harboring and this only sped up their decision to throw him into a boarding school. He doesn't know if he had family members who were demons in the past, or if it was genetic for that matter, but he began developing some of his abilities while in this school. For starters, he realized that – if he wanted to, or tried – he could get girls to like him, he always thought of it in a friendly sense (as he only ever wanted friends), but this ability eventually backfired due to causing a bit of drama – drama that ended up with the clergy of the school to separate him from the opposite sex. As a result, Kit was thrown to the boys – who were much less forgiving to Kit. Many actively intimidated him, especially when he was forced to participate in sports or in physical education courses, and even though he was picked on, called nasty names, violently attacked and harped on for “loving other boys” – a conclusion the male populace came to after, simply, paying attention to him in the locker room and showers – that and by reading what he wrote in his notebook, something Kit is incredibly touchy about people reading. Either way, he became an outcast amongst his peers – everyone hated him, no one treated him well, and Kit became even more prone to depression and feelings of misery and anxiety. All too often he hated his position, he hated all that was happening and simply wanted to leave.
So he did.
One night he left on his lonesome, not wanting to spend another day at this boarding school which happened to be located one state over from Colorado – New Mexico. Using what he knew of the world, Kit was able to make his way to Colorado on a journey to nowhere, often sleeping wherever he could, and doing anything to raise money so he could go places via the taxi system, or buy more food. He had plenty of clothes, three different shirts and pants, so he didn’t feel the need to buy more. Eventually, Kit had taken to sleeping wherever he could in Denver – the park, mainly. He did what he could to stay away from people – he feared them, and in a way, absolutely abhorred them for he figured all humans were like the ones that had treated him so terribly throughout his life. This apprehension and prejudice stuck with him, something he had become conditioned to think and believe, and due to his limited contact with humans, he hasn’t been able to change this mental set.
Eventually Kit was let into the Akashibai Academy, after running into someone who shared some of the traits he had -- although, this occurred in a dream (where Kit is unsure if it really was someone, or not), but it was through this dream where he was granted some basic information on what he was, what he could do, and so forth. The school was mentioned to him in this dream, not necessarily as an advertising agent, but as the most prominent way he could better himself and, perhaps, to lead a better life where he could be himself and not hold such fear and hate of others. When he actually went to the school, taking time to find it, he was actually let in after some meetings and talks. He had to explain that he had no parents right now – Andrea and Vincent had sent him to a boarding school, after all, and they weren’t his blood relatives to begin with.
His first year at Akashibai was met with great success, he excelled in many of the studies he went into – sans mathematics and the sciences – and had been able to develop his other abilities at an amazing rate. He could induce sleep in other people, enter their dreams seamlessly and mock it up any way he wanted to, he was most proud of this accomplishment, even though he never bragged about it to anyone. He made no friends, for he isolated himself from everyone – scared of them, scared that they would treat him horribly, scared that they would attack him, beat him, make fun of him, hurt him or cause any other strife he desperately wanted to avoid. Eventually he settled into writing, reading, gardening and cooking – all calming tasks that kept him comfortable.
With his mind fairly cleared, Kit often began to wonder about his real parents – who were they? Did they love him? Would they be proud of him if they met him, or would they prefer to treat him like a blemish upon their name? Kit holds a fairly romanticized image of his parents, often liking to view them as courageous warriors, or as those wronged in some way, forcing them to leave him behind to some old human family.
In a way, Kit has developed a disliking towards humans. He doesn’t admit to hate them, but he avoids interaction with them all the same. When it comes to humans, however, he often will respond with more emotion – if some human were, say, attack him Kit might actually go far enough to kill that person, even though lethal force would likely be completely unnecessary. He resents himself for these types of reactions, and often feels guilty for resenting those who haven’t really harmed him, by equating them to the same humans who tormented him as a younger kid and as those same humans who treated him like a disease, something and someone to be ashamed of. He doesn’t have these types of reactions to other species, even if they try to intimidate him for no reason.
Although Kit is now going to Akashibai Academy, he still feels a lot of his fears and anxieties around people. Sometimes he feels like he needs to talk to someone about this problems, but generally, he chickens out and talks to his teddy bear – when no one is around, after all, he doesn’t want to be known as “that weird kid who talks to stuffed animals.” Despite his generally quiet demeanor, he’ll open up and just talk and talk to this inanimate object, largely for he doesn’t fear judgment, or scolding, or mocking, or someone reacting to what he had to say in a negative light through this manner. Plus, he never feels guilty for it – if he were to spill his guts out to a real person, often, he’d feel guilty for wasting that person’s valuable time, or making that person worried about him, or raining on an otherwise happy day. He keeps his teddy around because it’s one of the objects that makes him feel secure, safe and it holds a lot of sentimental meaning to him – he had it ever since he showed up at the Ravenhart residence, the bear stuffed with him inside of the small casket. It’s the one artifact he has from his parents and, even though the toy is old and falling apart, it’s an object he simply cannot leave behind – ever.

WITH FACES PRESSED AGAINST THE
wall lets show the world what we are about
wall lets show the world what we are about
* Easily won over with gifts of chocolate, or flowers
* Opens up a lot more quickly when in a situation he sees as comfortable and safe, such as in a garden, especially if the other person takes an active interest in the things he has to say.
* Responds more willingly, and reacts more favorably, to those who are gentle with him and who can coax him into a sense of security. This could be exploited to manipulate him, to convince him to do things he wouldn't normally do -- especially if he sees the other person as above him in some way, be it in ability or personality. (This effect is even more prominent if he's infatuated with the other person, as in that case, he'll try to do what he can to win that person over).
* Easily pressured into doing things (Like, getting a tattoo, getting a piercing, to drink and so on)
* Still sleeps with a teddy bear.
RP SAMPLE:
... Mist seeped through his thin nightshirt, dampening his fair skin and causing him to shiver in the cold nighttime air. It had just stopped raining, the sounds of water dripping off the lush leaves of trees, of the wind rustling the plant-life and stirring the many puddles gave the area a peaceful, calm and yet eerie atmosphere. For Kit, who only wore a lengthy thin nightshirt -- more comparable to a nightgown -- everything felt more frightening than peaceful. Long, dark shadows would dance upon the brick walls of the houses, sometimes drifting their way into the black topped street void of any and all signs of life. With his mind so focused on that cold, biting sensation in his feet as he walked barefoot upon the damp ground, he felt simply scared. A demon… scared…
Something would happen, he knew it, but what would it be? Would he die? Would thunder rip through the blackened sky? Was there a monster waiting around the corner, poised on its haunches, watching him with those terrifying, beady red eyes? What would happen out here, all alone? Something, something would happen.
But what?
A cold breeze whipped past his small, meek form. Teeth chattering, he drew his arms across his chest, gripping his shoulders tightly as he tried to will away the cold.
It's so cold, so brutally cold... is this what it feels like before people die? Is... is this why people call it "death's cold embrace"? I... I don't want to die... but... but then, why should I even live anymore? My parents... they... they hate me, despise me. And... and I don't understand why! What... what did I ever do to them? Or... o-or is it because I'm a monster? Some sort of monster, hurting people like... like that one kid.... Do I deserve to live after that? But even if I do deserve to live... how can I? I can't be myself here, no... my father hates it when I act how I want, even he hits me... but... but what about my mother? Does... does she hate me too? I don't know... I just... I just want... someone to care about me... that's... that's all...
I ever wanted.
Terribly cold droplets of water slowly slid down his otherwise warm and lively cheeks; he knew he was crying, even in his dreams. While stuck out alone on that terrifying street, he fell to his knees in submission, unable to ward off the cold that assailed him, or the pain that manifested in his heart. Slowly, he felt the cold enwrap his entire body, as if a tender lover, the only one he would ever know forevermore. As the cold crept up his body, his breath feeling like ice against the inside of his throat, he felt something warm grip his shoulder even as his ice cold tears fell onto his hands that gripped the soft, cold sod in hopelessness.
Ever so slowly he turned his head to look up, strands of hair splaying across his apprehensive countenance.
And then, he screamed.
... With a rush Kit snapped awake, one hand gripping his shoulder like a life rope, eyes wide and body covered in ice cold sweat. It had been another of his nightmares, and as he turned to look to his shoulder, his hand had gripped it so hard that his nails had dug into the skin, causing him to bleed. He removed his hand from his now wounded shoulder with a wince, pulling himself out of bed to go to the restroom, where he planned to wash his shoulder up and put some bandages over the cuts his fingernails had left behind.
As he did so, his mind drifted back to that horrible dream, seeing it in brief flashes of image and sensation. Everything about it made him feel so frightened, causing his hands to shake and his breath to sound ragged as he lightly brought a wash cloth over his shoulder, eyes staring as if lost in thought, down towards the drain. Tears were still welled in his eyes, his messy hair falling over the sides of his face as he stared down towards the drain, his chest heaving up and down with each laborious breath he took.
What made me scream?
What was it?
His legs were shaking with weakness, one hand gripping the porcelain sink in a death grip as he closed his eyes in fear and frustration. Slowly he felt himself fall to the floor, resting his forehead against the sink, hugging himself with his free arm as he let himself cry. He hated crying, it made him feel weak, useless and pathetic. After all, he never saw another demon cry at the Academy – never saw another S Class student cry, for that matter. Yet he couldn’t help himself sometimes, as sometimes everything just piled up on his shoulders and he had no other way to let it all out.
So he cried.
So he stayed there and cried.
He just hoped his roommate wouldn’t see, wouldn’t kick him while he was down. That always seemed to happen, though – someone would kick him at the worst time, so why should tonight be any different? [/ul]
