The library was always a place Lukien enjoyed. Nice, quiet and relaxing, with worlds of information within reach. He paid no heed to the other students that muttered and pointed to him and his corner, though he could hear quite perfectly what they were saying. S Class, beware, vampire, and so on and so forth. It meant nothing to him really, as long as they left him alone to read his books. He reclined with his back to a wall, sunlight streaming in over his shoulder making it much easier for him to read as he passed the time until something to do struck him. His normal hobbies weren't exactly easy to pursue here at school, and he didn't feel like going to the city for the day, though a cup of coffee did sound nice. Instead he tucked himself away in a corner of the library, hidden behind rows and shelves of books from view, knowing full well that others still knew he was here, and continued to mutter quietly to their friends about him. S Class wasn't unheard of, but rarely had they been encountered yet.
He was dressed today in his normal white slacks, with a crimson silk button up, over which he wore a black vest and tie. He'd left his weapon in his room today, opting to make people feel a little more comfortable around him if he could. His crimson hair and brilliant silver eyes thankfully didn't stick out that much here, and he attracted a lot less attention than he did wandering about the vanilla mortal societies. He quietly thumbed through the book as the time passed, paying little heed to what else was going on. He knew they were concerned of a vampire being around them, most thinking that vampires needed to feed constantly and they feared they might be next on his menu. Well, most did. Some seemed inordinately pleased by the idea, they creeped him out most really.
He smiles knowingly to himself however, fully aware that they'd be even more concerned if they knew the full extent to the vampire attending school with them. He was a pureblood, vampiric royalty, of the Valtieri bloodline. As such, he was extremely powerful and tolerant of sunlight as they'd no doubt noticed, and even descended from the Spartans of old. He rarely needed to feed really, and abstained from feeding off people if he could. It felt...unnatural. Like his father, he drank from a glass, bottled vintages that were considered exquisite. He casually brushes an errant strand of hair from his face as he settles in, content to let his day slide by, quiet and uneventful.

Clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp...
Yalya was wearing her heavy black boots, her steps loudly echoing through the library. She had a few books under her arms and wore a black dress with narrow shoulders and a thigh-high skirt. Her stockings vanished up that skirt and she wore fishnets on her arms and fingerless black gloves. a stainless steel necklace dangled from her neck, and she had given her black hair white tips today. Her eyes wandered around the library as she moved to the back of it, coincidentally to where Lukien was reading. She found a book shelf, took another book out, then sat in a chair, loudly putting her feet up on the arm of the chair and crossing her legs.
The books thumped on the ground, and Yalya picked up the first book. She began to read, clicking her tongue to herself as she turned the pages slowly, losing herself in the book. Admittedly these actions were meant to be as annoying as they were and then some, she was in a somewhat sour mood today and decided to relieve it with some generally spiteful behavior. Yalya looked up at Lukien, she'd heard of him. S-Class student, kept to himself, vampire. In her eyes this guy was the same as every guy. Why would this one be different just because he wore some fancy clothes and kept to himself? Guys were guys. Yalya looked back to her book, clicking her tongue in a slight tune as she turned the page again.
Her eyes wandered back up to him. A ginger, like that guy from the fencing class... Probably another reason this guy would be just the same. Why wouldn't he be? "Hey." She said, eyes still pointing at him. "Why sit all the way back here?" Her voice wasn't too loud but she certainly wasn't trying too hard to keep it down. The tone sounded neutral but with a hint of arrogance, like a superior talking to a subordinate. Yaly moved one hand from the book, toying with her hair and wrapping a few strands of it around one finger, looking at the vampire. "S-Class student like you, figured you'd be out being a big deal somewhere." What was so special about S-Class students? Guys tend to all be the same, all only be interested in one thing and Yaly would just have to prove it for herself once again...

He'd heard her coming long before she entered his little corner and dropped presumptuously into a seat at his table. His eye twitched once as they rose from his book he'd been enjoying to stare at her. Her scent marked her as a harpy, B Class. Not that he really cared for the class system the students ranked each other on, but knowledge had it's advantages. According to the hierarchy here, she would be third from the top based on her race. It took him a moment to process what she was saying, as pure, unadulterated irritation shot through his system from her very presence. "Do you mind? I'd heard rampaging rhinos quieter than you." he says icily, fixing her with a glare that he'd found came quite naturally to him.
"I sit back here because I don't care to make a fuss with others, nor care for their impressions of me. I enjoy my peace and quiet, which you have so thoroughly ruined." he says, a faint note of disgust in his voice as he closes his book. He let his eyes roam her appearance, mentally categorizing her, filing away the information for a later date. His face remained impassive as he did so, not the least bit enticed by what she was flaunting. His heart already belonged to someone else, and no hussy in a short skirt was gonna change that. "So what are you supposed to be, Harley Harpy?" he asks, wondering idly if she'd get the reference. he doubted it, since it seemed most Yajuu had nothing to do with humans or their media. Shame really, they had some good stuff.

"Pfff, they wish Harley was as good as me." Yaly gave Lukien a blank stare. That was the best he could come up with? She uncrossed her legs then crossed them again, looking back to her book and turning the pages, reading again for a few seconds before looking back up at the guy. He seemed kinda distant, had that "mysterious aloofness" guys thought was cool. Yaly thought it was just them denying their base nature, the thing that makes all guys into guys. Nothing wrong with that observation.
"So what're you reading then?" She looked back to her book, thumbing through a few more pages as he spoke, stretching a bit and leaning a bit further back in the chair, uncrossing her legs and crossing them again, her skirt sliding up a bit as she adjusted herself in her chair. Yalya was now turned sideways in the chair, facing towards Lukien with her legs pointing at him slightly, turning the pages of her book as she seemed to casually be skimming through it rather than outright reading it.

He snorts in amusement, shaking his head. "You're cocky, I'll give you that. As for what I'm reading, it's the Aeneid of Virgil. Doubt it's anything you're into." he says with a shrug, eyes narrowing on her. The fidegting was somewhat annoying, it seemed she was a very restless person. Not to mention determined to flaunt what she had. He briefly wondered why, before deciding he didn't really care. He heaves a light sigh before turning to face her fully, crossing a leg across his lap. Resting his chin thoughtfully in his hand he stared at her a moment, deciding on what to say. He'd never really been good at conversing, preferring instead to be holed away reading someway, it left him woefully ill equipped to dealing with social intricacies, not to mention most everyone had an agenda.
"What is it you want? Out of the entire library, you chose to sit beside me in the farthest corner. That makes me curious, I'll admit. Combined with other things you've done, I have to wonder what you're really after." he says, turning the problem over in his head. "Ah, before I forget again. My name is Lukien, if it matters any. Lukien Valtieri. You are?" his mind filled in her name as exceedingly annoying, but courtesy demanded he be more polite, even if she was. He waits patiently for her to continue speaking, holding eye contact, not the least bit enticed or intimidated by her. She was up to something, or had something to prove, and he was determined to figure out what it was.

"Greek Epics were interesting at first but you read one you've read them all." Yaly spoke softly in response to the name of his book. Admittedly she was bluffing, not having read all that many of them. Then again Lukien probably didn't know that. "I'm not going to tell you what I want." She responded in matter-of-fact tone of voice, though keeping it somewhat quiet, this is a library after all. "I chose to sit back here for a few reasons." Yaly grinned a bit as she listed them off. "First off there's almost no one in the library, and the ones who are all sit by the door and the front desk." She tilted her head a bit at Lukien as she continued. "Second of all this place is a secluded, muffled corner of the library, you'd pretty much have to scream or shove a bookshelf over to get someone to hear what goes on back here..." She looked back to her book, her expression suddenly becoming neutral and her voice almost whimsically dismissal. "Finally, I'm surprised some S-Class big-shot cares what any of the other students do, let alone me..." She looked up at him again. "Unless I have a fan, of course..."
Yalya looked back to her book and turned the page, the story was interesting but it wasn't holding her attention, and Lukien certainly seemed like he was trying to cut to some chase. Did he think Yaly had some plan? Some sort of intention based off of rumoured "activities" she had been part of? She was just acting on instinct, reacting to whatever Lukien was saying after being loud and clumsy simply to bother him when she found someone back here. "Cute name, Italian?" She tilted her head at him, not giving hers just yet. "And it seems a little presumptuous, thinking that I have some sort of plan for you? What do you think I'm planning then?" She grinned slightly, thinking she was still playing with the young master Valtieri.

Lukien arches a brow at her, declining to reply to her comments about all Greek stories being the same. It was a subjective opinion, and he had no reason to try and change her mind. Not like he cared what she decided was good literature, nor was it his place to try and change her mind. He was mostly interested in reading them as they'd been written around the time his father was still young, so he was interested in what the world was like, so long ago. "I find knowledge is power. By knowing the designs, motivations and activities of everyone else around you, you can easily avoid, or engage in, trouble." he says with a light smile, shrugging slightly. "And don't flatter yourself, I don't know you, nor do I have a reason to be a 'fan.'" he says with another shrug.
His eyes find hers again, watching her intently for any signs of her thoughts. He'd become very good at reading people, despite spending most his time with books. "You've already stated you want something, by declining to tell me what it is. You're plans then probably involve me as you've chosen to sit here and engage me, rather than somewhere else without company. Given your rather novel ensemble, I assume you're a trouble maker, looking for a bit of sport or a bit of fun. Perhaps both even. Either way, I care not." he says with a shrug, reclining back in his chair. "You've also declined to give me your name, but I think I can surmise. Your appearance and demeanor fits what I've heard. You are Yaly, are you not?" he states more than asks her, blinking once. He remained curious as to what brought her here, she'd evaded his questions with more of her own, an annoying, if effective, tactic.

He was right in quite a few regards but a bit off in others. She decided to keep her poker face up a little longer, toy with him as best she could though now she saw it. Yaly wasn't dealing with some slack jawed school celebrity. This guy was good. "Maybe I am, Luke. What kind of sport and fun do you think you could offer though?" Admittedly he was wrong there. He was just in a spot she sometimes would sit to read. He was more an upset in her usual routine, her entrance was just more exaggerated than usual due to finding him back here.
She grinned at him, shifting again in her seat, crossing her legs and stretched, enjoying some of her human form's flexibility. She semi-closed her book, marking her spot with her thumb as she reached up and grabbed the toe of her boot, giving a small "hmm" of effort as she felt her muscles loosen before she slid her hand down her boot, eyes on Lukien. "What about you? Since you've heard of my 'reputation' and know so much about me, what are you going to do about it? I'm sure you, being a guy, would have ideas... Guys always seem to have ideas." She casually let her hand slide up her leg, feeling her muscles relaxing as she moved her hand back to the book, opening it and looking back to where she left off, lazily reading but keeping her attention on Lukien himself. His move.

He snorts in amusement, unable to contain it. "Ideas? Wow, sexist if ever I heard it. Lady, you look like Frankenhooker, and frankly, I don't give a damn what you want, or what you think I want, you aren't getting either. You aren't enticing to me, take your act somewhere else." he says dismissively. Oh sure, to other guys she'd probably be attractive, flaunting what she had so wantonly, but not him. He didn't care about the things most guys did. He enjoyed his peace and quiet, and a good book, not girls or getting laid. "Admittedly you more subtle about it then most I've seen, but still, seriously?" for some reason, he couldn't keep his mouth shut and just had to keep talking. Might as well vent on her while he was on a roll. Maybe then she'd take a hike. Or try and kill him. Whichever.
"There must be something seriously wrong with you if you think trying to seduce guys is fun. I'm not some conquest of yours, and never will be. I don't know what your self esteem is that makes you think this is some sort of sick validation of yours, but it's not happening. Grow up and deal with your problems, stop hiding behind promiscuity or else you're going to end up a bitter old harpy on a mountain somewhere kidnapping some poor bloke every other week when they think hiking is a good idea." he rants, his tone staying level and cold as he stared her down. By no means was he usually a mean or spiteful person, but something about her lack of self respect got under his skin, and he was damn certain to give her a piece of his mind.

"you sound like such a virgin." Yaly spoke in a sort of matter of fact tone, keeping her voice pleasant. Her defenses were up once again though as she closed her book quickly and put it on the table. She stared at Lukien with a poker face showing no weakness or expression, her playful grin and softer tone had vanished. "I figured you'd be a bit more lenient than the filth around this hole of a school, seeing as how you're just hiding back here trying for some sort of angsty, mysterious teen sort of act. Figured you'd like a little company and then you go and bite my head off like every other one of you boys" Yaly tilted her head, uncrossing her legs and letting one fall down off the chair.
"Unlike far too many of the idiots in here I'm still young and I can still enjoy myself." She sighed softly. "Maybe you've never been with a girl? Maybe you're just afraid?" She rested her head on a few of her fingers, bordering on a full-on facepalm. "I mean... Now you got me talking too much as well... You'd think an S-Class monster like you would be happy for a bit of action." She used the term monster the way someone would throw around any sort of label or stereotype, it was surprising considering she was far more monstrous than many of the students in the school. Yaly looked up at him, her voice sounding strained, like a parent who's growing tired of her child's fussy antics. "Now, are you going to drop this act and just play nice? I'm getting sick of your mature act, kid."

He laughs and shakes his head. "You don't get it huh? This isn't an act, I'm legitimately curious as to why you think this is any kind of ok or proper." he says, watching her curiously. There was something that drove her to this kind of behaviour, and he had the terrible habit of trying to analyze people. Now he was presented with a problem that was complex and intriguing. She acted haughty and promiscuous, yet it was clear something drove her to this. A deep seated self loathing perhaps? Traumatic past? Whatever it was, it kept his curiosity piqued and him engaged in conversation. He pauses for a moment to collect his thoughts before trying to delve once more into this mess to try and untangle it, wondering what it was that drove her. Clearly something powerful, but what?
"Whether or not I've been with anyone is hardly germane to the matter at hand. And so you know, no, I'm not going for angsty teenager, mostly social recluse that enjoys a little peace and quiet and a good book." he says with a shrug, frowning in puzzlement. "Action is something that hardly matters to me. I care not for the trivial nonsense the rest of our age group does. Perhaps because I was brought up in old world style, but the point is moot." he says, resting his chin on the backs of his hands, fingers clasped before him. "What I'm curious about is, why is it so important to you? It seems like you're trying to prove something, but what and to who? To yourself I would imagine, as to the what, men are all the same?" he asks, tilting his head slightly to the side, watching her reactions carefully. Truly he was curious now, and he wouldn't rest until he figured it out.

"Now now, you've already admitted you're boring. Don't take all the fun out of this." Something in Yaly made her speak like that, a part of her actually peeking through her defenses but playing to them just the same. He'd hit close to home a few times but she wouldn't admit it, not wanting to give everything up while she was being guided by those walls in her mind. Part of her wanted to talk, to reveal everything. Her motivation, how right he was, how things made her feel. A part of her wanted out of those walls but that circular logic of hers, her beliefs, everything she had built up around herself, it pushed her back down.
"I could tell you what you want, answer your questions truthfully, but what's in it for me?" She put the book down and sat up, legs still over the side of the chair as she leaned forward, crossing her arms around her knees and letting the neck of her dress fall down slightly, not enough to see anything but enough to get some air circulation going. Yalya tilted her head at him as she spoke, grinning playfully with narrowed, scrutinizing eyes. "Admit it: You wanna figure me out, you're intrigued, I think we have something we can both offer each other here."
