Its petals melting slowly as they go back to their form and melt away like blood going through a vein. Pick a rose, and cut it off from their supply of food and water. That's why they eventually die. But, even if you don't pick a rose, it dies too. That's how life is. Even if you don't pick it, and cut it off, it eventually dies as well. That part was a mystery to the male shape shifter who was casually sitting by the pond. His pant legs of his blue jeans were rolled up to mid shin and his feet dangled in the water, not being cautious of any Selkies or Kelpies who might be in the water waiting for him to get closer to being in the water. The male was propped on his elbows as he leaned back on the soft grass nurtured by the sweet water of the pond.
The male was picking the petals off of a rose, blood red with the edges turning brown a little, and throwing them gently into the water. He watched them float around, sometimes gently brushing past his shins that were suspended in the water. His feet weren't touching the soft, muddy ground of the pond, but inches away from it. He liked this, being able to talk to himself and having nature surround him with it's gentle embrace slowly smothering him in it's perfection. This male, tall yet gentle, had a name that should be known to all those who enter his little domain of happiness, but with a dark past. The petals flicked from his fingers, flying through the air like a little cannonball, making no splash when it hits the water. The water gently rippled from that petals' landing spots.
This male, quiet and happy, was Andre Ladia. He was a boy who went to Akashabai Academy to escape the cruel pickings of the world. His dark past is not reflected on who he is today. He is happy, but his eyes are often sealed from the rest of the world. Right then, his eyes were open, the sun gleaming off of the yellow-green irises his eyes so perfectly framed on his face. When he has his eyes closed, you rarely ever get the honor of seeing his eyes. Andre flicked the last petal into the water, and laid back completely. His eyes flew shut, and his hands went behind his head. What he would pay to have some company or someone to talk to. Alas, there was always an obstacle that stood before Andre Ladia, always preventing him from what he wanted the most in life.
In this case, the obstacle that was ahead of Andre was the dreary fact that he was new to this Academy. He had barely arrived a week and a half ago, and hadn't really made any friends to converse with just yet. Most of the time, he was too secretive and kept to himself for anyone to really take notice in this tall and intimidating looking boy. Truthfully, he wasn't scary when you got to know him. To say the least, his appearance was quite misleading most of the time. Andre reopened his eyes and checked his surroundings yet again. He hoped no one would be coming under things such as a plan. He didn't have any intentions of disturbing someone's plans like taking their spot. If they asked, he could always politely leave without another word. The smell of dew and the warm arm drifted gently through the pond area, and Andre took a deep breath of it.
Savor it....

Typical nice day out and it was just an awesome time to get away from all of the randomness of the school and the little life this female had. Growing up the water nymph female learned about a lot of things about the real world, and its cruelty that it had to offer. This nymph was called Rosalie, one of the smarter females of her the school but always kept it a secret. She was today trying to find a new spot where the students wouldn’t look at her like she was foreign or something because she was actually doing homework or reading. She bit her lip as she walked through the forest almost hoping no one was following her like they loved to do. For some reason when she was found reading or doing homework students would think she would do their homework for them. Though, Rosalie always was trying to wiggle her way out of talking to them. She was naturally shy and reserved as she didn’t really like to be badgered for many things. Only people she would help out was her siblings and her best friend of course she couldn’t leave them out in the dark. She found herself nearing the pond the long black hair flowed in the sunlight. She was enjoying that the nice weather for once, she knew it would snow soon or at least when winter comes again.
Rosie found herself arriving at the pond seeing a boy there in the pond. He did look new, though as much as what she knew of this place every one was new to her. She bit her lip walking gracefully and quietly across the grass. She didn’t want to disturb the other student in what looked like a nap that he was doing. She sat close to the other side of the pond grabbing her books out trying to ignore him. It was to her dismay that she found the book from her childhood, the Iliad a story of hero’s and tragedy love all the key important to any good story. She opened the book, as the pages looked like they were about to fall out. This book was passed down from generation to generation in her family. Every water Nymph loved this story in her family and the crazy love she had always reminded her of home. She kept her eye on the boy confused by what he was doing in the water. She hadn’t seen anyone except for a few water students like herself get into the water and even then they were rare into the water when they were out here. She hung around the pond a lot lately, due to attempting to strengthen her control over water. Which always managed to blow up in her face, she always had an issue with making water move without it exploding on her.
She bit her lip trying not to say anything to him about swimming there but sadly could speak any words to him. Rosie kept looking up from her book as if she was more interested in what he was going then the book itself. She raised her hand a little moving a bit of water over to her, as she did it the water burst and droplets fell to the ground. She let out a little giggle but quickly hushed up hoping she didn’t cause any spot light on her. Rosalie went back to her book burring her head into it, in the key hoping he wouldn’t notice her at all. She bit her lip a little hoping that he wouldn’t notice her small pale body against the trees.

His eyes were still closed when he heard someone approach the pond. He kept his eyes shut, not daring no look like he was conscious at this moment. Was the student- if it was a student at all- just passing through, or was he/she going to sit down and enjoy the day as well? He heard the giggles and determined it was a girl from the higher pitch in her voice. He let a smile slip onto his lips, creating a side smirk. He listened as she silenced herself. Was she trying to bring any attention away from her? Andre let one of his eyes open a little, and try to catch sight of this newcomer to the pond. With his position and the position of the girl, Andre was not able to see the girl from his laying position. To make it possible to at least make eye contact with the girl, he propped himself on his elbows again.
His face felt hot from the sun that had been beating down on them. Andre had a slight smile on his face and kept his left eye closed, trying to look like he had awoken from a nap or such. Then, he saw her. She had long black hair and breathtaking eyes. He kept his breathing steady for his own well being in this situation. He suddenly felt a warmth envelope him in the sense that he was no longer alone at the pond. The girl was absorbed in a book. If anything, as Andre predicted, she was probably a water student at the least. She seemed mildly determined on either ignoring Andre or keeping to herself. Both pointed to being slightly shy, something Andre really liked. He hated people who were up in his face and wouldn't give him a break and talk and talk and talk. That was Andre, sadly, when he got to know someone a little well.
Andre pulled his feet out of the water, letting the water drip from his feet for a moment and dried them off using the soft, dew-covered grass. Water would definitely get rid of water.... He got to his feet and put his hands in the pockets of his jeans. He walked around them perimeter of the pond, seating himself maybe a yard and a half from where the girl was seated and reading her book. The male caught sight of the front cover and recognized it as the Iliad, a book he hadn't read in quite some time as he thought about it. His voice came out smoothly, as he desired, "Hello there," He spoke gently at first, trying not to startle the girl, "Come out here to enjoy such a glorious day as it is?" Andre closed his eyes and tilted his head to the side a little. He smiled, letting a small "heh" escape between his teeth.
Andre let his eyes open again, so it didn't look as if he was trying not to make eye contact. He let his smile linger on his mouth as he continued to speak, "I'm Andre, C class Shapshifter" Andre peered at the girl, bringing his knees up to his chest. He wrapped his arms around his legs, just below his knees. Andre arched his back a little, getting more comfortable in the place he was. He didn't want to make it too obvious that he had been sitting where he had been originally that he had gotten light headed when he had stood up and walked over to the girl. He waited for her reply, glancing at her every few moments. She was quite eye catching, Andre admitted to himself. A shy person was a humble person, and Andre thought humble people were the most important kind of people there was.
A humble heart... |

Rosalie decided for the nice day she could deal with the weather and how night it was. Just she really was curious about the boy in the pond. She enjoyed the sun though it reminded her of her first home where she was born, a place where she missed a lot. It was common for her to be near water just she really didn’t need it to survive like most water students she just had the control of it. Her blue eyes glanced from the book every few minutes to see where he was if he was still in the water at least. She bit her lip going back to the book and it was that moment where she was lost with the battle scene. She loved the book to death and always was involved in certain parts of it. She jumped a little at the next time she looked up to see the boy about a yard away from her. Rosie bit her lip attempting to keep calm and not looking at the boy. Her shyness always took over, usually she could overcome it if she approached them but this was different he was near her well a yard away but still she never had someone really approach her unless it was something they wanted. This boy didn’t seem like he wanted something yet at least.
Rosalie heard him start to speak as he was trying to make a conversation with her it felt like she couldn’t speak at all. She was put on the spot when he started speaking about enjoying the weather and also saying hi. She bit her lip as a nervous habit she had developed around humans when she went to their schools. “Um..” Was all Rosie could say at that moment trying to figure out what to really to say. “hello…” She said in a soft voice. She couldn’t really think of anything to say to the next thing. “um… it is isn’t it?” She threw back the question to him. She really couldn’t be social for her life depended on it just because of the simple fact she lack that part of her. She knew what the boy was doing he was trying to speak to her. In her mind though, she just never understand certain quality of most students had.
He spoke again, the soothing voice sort of made her blush a little. The red tint crawled across her face as she couldn’t help it. He introduced himself as Andre a c class student and a shape shifter. Rosalie didn’t know how to respond to that. “I…am… Rosalie… D class student… water nymph.” She spoke kind of a little shy to speak. She decided that she would put down her book, as she felt now that she was just being rude to them. Rosie examined the boy over figuring that he probably would be talking to her. Which, for her was unusual that someone would want to be social to her out of the day.

A habit that was still strong in his blood apparently, as he decided to make himself more comfortable in his new spot by the girl. He stretched his legs in front of him; letting his toes skim the surface of the water. He listened to her, letting his eyes gaze at her while she spoke. He was trying his best to be polite to the girl. Andre lets his eyes gaze into hers. A smile appeared on Andre's lips as he noticed how shy the girl was around him. This was music to Andre's heart as he let the smile stick to his lips. So, if the girl was shy, she had nothing to be afraid of around Andre. She rebounded Andre's question right back at him about how nice it was today.
He wanted to get closer to Rosalie to make himself more comfortable, but quickly thought how flirty and awkward that could turn out in the end. He just let a chuckle escape under his breath and folded his hands in his lap, "Oh most definitely..." It was a beautiful day as Andre looked up at the beautiful, clear, blue sky that he remembered from some of the places he had grown up in. She introduced herself as Rosalie, a D class water nymph. Not meaning to flirt, Andre said, "What a beautiful name." He realized how flirty he was and felt his face flush red as he looked back at his feet. He wished he could jump into the water and forget the flirting and the pretty girl and just melt into the water. He couldn't move at that moment for some reason.
He let out a small chuckle as he noticed how she was blushing. Andre Ladia found a girl's blush extremely cute. Most people thought shyness was weakness when Andre saw it as strength. He wasn't shy at all. "It's alright," He said comfortingly, giving Rosalie a warming smile. He didn't want he to be afraid around him, so he tried his best to get her more comfortable. "No need to be shy. I don't bite. Hopefully I don't." Andre tried his best to make the joke funny and not creepy, but by the sounds of it, had failed. Maybe she would get the joke... "My apologies for being so flirty. I can't help myself around-" Andre stopped himself from saying "beautiful girls" and instead finished it as, "girls in general." He wasn't flirty with girls in general. He was flirty with shy girls, darn it!

Rosalie was still unsure of the boy next to her, it was something of a defense mechanism that she had towards strangers and at this school. Along with the students at the school Rosie had issues with them as the simple fact most were pretty much scary creatures she never encountered before. She watched as the boy came closer to her, instead of moving away Rosalie stayed her ground in all fear and hope that nothing would change or he wouldn’t bit her. Of course, knowing this student she would fight if she had to. Previous school recorded for fighting was about every day of her life there. She bit her lip her blue eyes just set on him studying his every move. This boy was defiantly flirting, Rosie could tell by body language and how he spoke. Funny thing was boys like him would have been fended away by her older brother now that was left up to her make that decision if she was going to open up her little charming fiery attitude to him or not.
Rosie was shocked when the boy responded; minor words were ever spoken to her at the short time at this school. No one really spoke to her just because of the fact she was small and defenseless. He agreed with her on the weather which was a good thing she could kind of tell this boy was nice in a way. When he spoke about her name being beautiful the faint blush on her face went to a bright red. No one ever commented on her name. Of course that was the simple thing of it was she had an Italian name and well where she lived people were used to names like that. “Thank you… you have a nice name to…” She said quietly not sure how to word that she liked his name. His name reminded her of France a place she always dreamed of going to. Rosie looked at Andre’s face and seen a blush across his cheeks as well, at that moment she let out a little giggle knowing it was stupid but she felt like she wasn’t alone and attempting small talk. She was glad he was at a somewhat of a distance from her, even though he was still close she couldn’t imagine being too close to someone that she just met.
Rosalie heard him chuckle and her head moved to the side looking at him oddly. Then Andre spoke again about it being alright, of course she didn’t quit understand what was alright. It was when he spoke again about no biting and not having to be shy. She figured she could kind of trust him, though for Rosie she’d still be a little bit on the defensive side when she opened up. “Alright… As long as you don’t bit I won’t.” She said with a little laugh. It was the truth she didn’t bit unless provoked. Even then when provoked she would come out swinging versus biting her opponent. Andre explained he flirted with girls in general made sense coming from him. “Ah well that I guess makes sense… I think.” She said starting to open up to him slowly. Rosie still kept her shell of the shyness around her personality. She didn’t want to have a bad ending at the beginning of what could be a good friendship.
