Valus had wandered over to the Hard Rock Cafe since he was a teacher and could get away with it. He sat down at a table and started sipping at the coffee he had bought. His foot started to bounce up and down in rhythm with the music.
He was enjoying it somewhat.
He was not into the whole Rock thing anymore. He prefers the nice little, friendly shows with a Jazz artist. He had looked around to make sure he didn't recognize any students who had skipped.
From what he could tell. No. If he walked in and they saw him, they would have left while he was getting his coffee as it was. He was enjoying this day.
Looking out a window he noticed that there was not a cloud in the sky to speak of, making it all the more better to be outside of a classroom, and just the school in general and realize that he missed the outside world. He was lucky he was only half Demon as it was.
He pulled out his cell- No messages. Not even one...

It wasn't a big deal for a teacher to leave the campus. As a matter of fact, it was encouraged. Unlike students, teachers knew the world better than anyone. They were able to know when it was too dangerous to be seen in public. But for someone like Zoe, she preferred the human world. She wasn't judged by what she was when she was with other humans because it was assumed she was just another human. Unlike her counterparts, Chimeras were looked down upon by the rest of society. Why, Zoe had no idea. It was just one of those innate rules. Chimeras were lower than dirt.
Zoe made her way to the Cafe because she was feeling particularly adventurous. Normally she stayed away from any place that was noisy or had a lot of people. But she was feeling confident. She walked into the Cafe and took a seat at an empty booth. She ordered a coffee and figured she had time to run to the bathroom. She moved out of the booth only to knock into a large man. She stumbled back, taken aback by the collision. He looked down at her with angry eyes. She muttered an apology but he pointed a finger at her accusingly. "Watch where you're going!" he warned dangerously. Zoe looked down and continued to mumble an apology. He huffed once before moving away from her. Thinking twice about moving, Zoe just sat back down in her booth, head down.

Valus saw what happened to his fellow teacher and almost crushed his cup in his hands. He was worried about each student and each teacher to the point of some form of insomnia. He got up slowly and picked up his coffee cup and made his way over to his friend.
"Hey, got an extra seat Ms. Nelson?"
He said with a smile, he knew last names but not first names, that's what he gets for skimming through all profiles on his own time instead of READING them. He didn't care so much on species. If she would let him he would sit down and looked around.
"Sorry, some times I forgot about some people. In this place..."
He said with his smile on his face, he was trying to get her to relax a bit. He wasn't sure if it would work but if it did, he could probably try to figure out something to talk about.

Zoe blinked and recoiled as she suddenly found herself being addressed. She looked up to see a man she was only somewhat familiar with. The fact that he knew her name surprised her though and that surprise was visible on her face. She recognized the man as another teacher but she'd never spoken to him and she wasn't familiar with his name. She winced as she realized she was drawing a blank. But she often kept to herself. She'd only really spoken to one other teacher and she hadn't seen him since. Did she scare him off? Did he not like her? These kinds of questions always plagued Zoe's mind. The thought of rejection terrified her.
His words were kind as was his smile. She nodded to him encouragingly. She wanted him to sit down. Company would be nice. The only people she spoke to were her students and she wasn't really speaking TO them so much as AT them. It was hardly an interaction.
"Yes. Yes. Please."
The waitress brought her over a cup of coffee and she thanked her quietly before she put two creamers in her cup. No sugar. She hated sweet coffee. "Um, I know you are a teacher, but I'm afraid I don't know your name," she admitted shamefully.

Valus realized that she wasn't the talking type. Even so he was now sitting across the table. As he looked around the store he realized that a lot of humans were running amok. He spent his whole life doing so and he sighed a bit as he had a few memories come to mind.
His thought was broken as she asked who he was. He looked at her and while a smile he put out his hand for a hand shake.
"Valus- Valus G'Layus."
If she had taken his hand for the shake he would have kept going.
"Well- A lot of new teachers can't expect to know each other off the bat."
He said with his smile not leaving his face. He was going to try to get her to settle down. He took a drink of his own coffee and asked a question.
"What was it that you taught.. Ms. Nelson??"
