~ Lost & Confused
Oh James, how I wish I was in this novel to hug you after that. How cruel, to be left heartbroken on that bridge, left out in the moonlight with only sadness as that bastard walks away with someone else in his arms. How unfair... man, I really hope this book ends happily for him, it'd be depressing to read the next fifty pages just to learn that James could never pick himself up after that and find someone else, with his thoughts buried within one of the many romance novels he had been reading throughout the day, Kit felt detached from reality. Slowly he closed the book he had spent the last two hours reading, killing 200 pages that he now wanted to reflect and think about. Although, he had a number of books scattered across the table, surely cleaning them up wouldn't hurt? At least, it'd keep the librarian off his back for a little while. "Well... it won't kill me to walk around," he mumbled to himself, looking around to see if anyone was listening to him. For some people it may have seemed strange that he talked to himself occasionally like that, and he disliked getting those judgmental looks from time to time. Luckily enough, there weren't many people paying attention to his little spot of the room, mostly people had their noses buried in their coursework, in some books, or chatting quietly with their friends. Nothing out of the ordinary, although it made Kit wish that the library would open its windows from time to time -- it got stuffy. Well... I could leave my bag here, just to like... "hold" the table sorta. I like to think people are decent enough to not go through it... but... well, I'll just take it with me anyway. If someone takes the table well... that's that, better the table than my stuff. The incubus shrugged to himself, grabbing his purple messenger bag and tossing it onto his shoulder, carrying the armful of books he wanted to go find places for again. They were all romance novels, as Kit got into that genre quite a bit, so he wouldn't have to run all over the library to put them back, as they all belonged in roughly the same area. As he approached the shelves, taking a step back to survey them for a moment or two before he began to put the books back. "This one goes here... and this goes here... and um... crap uh, where does this one go..." in one hand Kit held just another romance novel, though he couldn't remember where it he had found it to begin with. Even though others probably wouldn't know what had him stalled right then, Kit felt his face redden with embarrassment as he tried to think of where to put it. Should I just... slip it here... ? But... no that's dishonest... um... should I ask... ? W-Well I think the librarian's probably busy anyway, so I'll just... keep looking.

Just a boring day, school was going alright just pretty dual though. Rosalie found herself heading towards the library to enjoy some new books. Not saying that she had a ton of books piled in her room and she read them all a lot. She wanted to read some new books or something that would change her reading experience. She was use to reading science fiction and non-fiction books she wanted to read something entertaining maybe a romance book. Rosie felt compelled to read something out of her comfort zone for reading. She walked down the random hallways trying to remember where everything was at. Sadly for Rosalie it was a new beginning at this school and never knowing where she would end at was a problem. “Gosh where is the library… I should so have paid attention during the tour of the school.” She muttered to herself feeling like a lost little puppy as she wandered around the school... After five minutes of frustration she finally found the Library she entered quickly seeing how no one was hardly there, or they were busy studying for her to even notice. The library was like a sanctuary for the young nymph, as she could and probably would spend all day there.
She headed back to where the romance books would be located, she sighed a little in hopes that this would be the new genre she would get into. Rosie smiled a little looking at all the books around her stacked high; it was one thing she was grateful for was this place. She smiled a little looking at all the books in the romance section. “Wow.” She whispered to herself realizing no one was really around her. She grabbed a bunch of books as she went through the rows seeing every title and synopsis of the books she grabbed. Rosalie grabbed a table setting the ones she had down onto it before she was back going through the section finding something new. She looked over seeing another student who was putting back books and seemed lost. Looking at the book she smiled a little figuring out where he could put it. “Um…” She spoke quietly not sure what to really say. “I think I know where your book can go.” She said still speaking really quiet and shy. Rosie was never sure of herself around other students especially when she could tell they had a higher ranking than hers.
“I am sorry I don’t mean to intrude on you putting books away… just you look lost with that one.” She said quickly apologizing for her little outburst. Rosie bit her lip going back to the books trying not to look at him. She couldn’t really say for sure what she was thinking of speaking to a higher class student just because of the fact various experiences with them and them kind of shunning her. Though, her defense mechanism was to automatically shy away from the crowds. She brushed her black hair to the side and looked at the back at the books.

Never before had he felt this stumped, well at least in terms of books and libraries. Social situations generally made him feel even more confused and flustered, there were just so many rules he didn't understand -- how do greetings work? Does one say hi immediately after the other person? What next, then? What phrases should not be said? Kit could understand what words, or labels, to avoid in conversation as, after all, he hated all the slurs people had used when labeling him before. Right now though, Kit's thoughts were focused on finding the home of the novel he had finished reading earlier that same day. "There... ? No... all of those books have author's that start with 'M'... but over here it's all book titles that start with 'A'... how are these shelves categorized... ?" for a few moments he began scanning the shelves for a "alphabetized by _____" sign, they existed on the shelves at bookstores so why not the school library? For that matter, why wouldn't such a helpful little note be present, as he figured it would help out the library staff some when it came to reorganizing the books after a wave of students had come through. He had been so absorbed in thought on this matter that he failed to notice someone else nearby, likely browsing the books at her own leisure. “I think I know where your book can go.” Kit felt his face get a little redder with embarrassment. Someone caught him all lost and confused, he was an S Class student and he felt like he was supposed to seem more sure of himself and not get stuck in situations like this. Of course, he may have been blowing it out of proportion in his head, he had a habit of doing that, but it didn't make him feel any less embarrassed. Before he could respond, however, the other student continued; “I am sorry I don’t mean to intrude on you putting books away… just you look lost with that one.” For a moment Kit felt a little surprised, he never really ran into people who apologized for helping out someone, especially himself. But then again, he knew he would've been likely to say the same thing as he habitually apologized for the most minor of potential offenses. "Oh um, no it's really fine... I uh... I couldn't figure out if it's... um, alphabetized by author or title... so any help is well... erm... helpful," mentally he slapped himself, how redundant that must've sounded -- of course help would be helpful, it wasn't exactly a foreign concept. "But uh... so um, where does it go... ?" Kit's voice sounded quite soft, not much louder than a whisper really, which may have told more than he could regarding how shy he could be sometimes. I wonder if she's looking for romance novels to read... I mean, she might have some in mind and stuff but... should I recommend anything? Granted... most of what I read is male and male pairings... but wouldn't girls be interested in that? Or maybe not, but I do know some boy and girl ones to that are pretty good, so I guess I could fall on my limited knowledge there? Or maybe I should keep my mouth shut unless asked... I wouldn't want to offend her... as some people might get touchy about being recommended things... the young incubus refrained from adding anything else to the exchange, a little too unsure of what to say, but he gladly awaited for her solution to his problem. While he thought, he gently set his bag on the floor as his shoulder felt a little sore and there wasn't much of a reason for him to hold the purple messenger bag up right then. The fine fabric of his nice dark red shirt wasn't much for protection against the bag's course strap anyway, plus the form fitting jeans he wore weren't taking the brunt of the friction the bag produced on his leg, so setting it down was one of the comfier options at that moment. As he brought up a hand to remove some of the black strands of hair in his visible eye, it was noticeable that his nails were painted a light shade of pink. Initially Kit had been self conscious when it came to painting his nails any color, but he liked doing it and, so far, no student had really given him a hard time about it.

Rosalie found herself just buried in books figuratively of course. She felt like she would stay in this library was going to be her new hiding place when she was hiding from some random person having their outs for her. Her fingers lightly touched the books as she scanned to see what titles would pop out at her. Rosie’s mind was lost in all the titles trying to figure them out, it took her a little bit longer to examine titles just because she was still getting use to the English language. She spoke Greek for a while but still spoke perfect English for the most part, just she lived in Greece and the village only spoke Greek. She always examined the codes that the library put up, to her made sense only simply seeing a pattern she figured it out pretty quick. For some reason Rosie was pretty well at memorizing things that weren’t really supposed to be memorized so quickly. When she looked at the other student waiting for him to answer or say something to what she had said about where the book could go. She realized that she had embarrassed him with what she had said.
Rosalie was shocked when he spoke about it being fine that she was willing to help him out. She smiled a little and a sigh of relief that he didn’t freak out on her. She was so use to trying anti-social that she always apologized in the case that she wouldn’t get in trouble. “It’s…umm… alphabetized by title. It’s like a random pattern the librarians put it. I am not sure how they think it’s helpful but what can you… Oh… Sorry I don’t mean to talk too much.” She said feeling her face heat up a little due to the fact she was blushing. Mostly in embarrassment due to talking way too much to him. She didn’t know how the guy would feel about talking a lot as he was probably was the type to like their peace. “It goes down here with the ‘M’ titles…” She said bending down and pointing to the exact spot it went into. Rosie bit her lip still looking at book a bit of a confused look on her face as well as she started to go back to books looking at them all. It was this overwhelming feeling she had as all the books started to clash together. She looked over to the other student he looked so confident as he put books back on the shelf.
“Do you have any suggestion on books? I am kind of new to this genre of books. Kind of breaking out of normal habits I guess.” She said with a laugh joking about her breaking out of her typical genre of books. Rosalie wasn’t use to the actual idea of finding love or idea of being in a relationship. Of course then again she never really felt love before with anyone, so she wanted to see it for herself. “I am Rosalie by the way…. I know kind of random. I am just new to the school and not sure about everything around here.” She said owning up to being new. She was only a D class student and didn’t have powers like some students did. She was just a nymph and was one of 4 kids out of her family. “Please tell me if I am bugging you I feel so bad if I am.” She added after a few moments.

Kitvael was a patient little demon, never one to try rushing others no matter how long they took. Of course, Roaslie's verbal response came quickly enough, faster than Kit thought as he figured she might've needed to search for the spot again. Either way, he knew that there probably were some students who would've gotten huffy over it, if only because it wasn't instantaneous. Some people liked instant gratification, nearly out of the realm of physical possibility, but Kit never cared -- he'd have waited for an hour.
He felt a little embarrassed when Rosalie pointed out that the books were arranged by title, he had been thinking that to be the case, but with all the similar author-names nearby it had thrown him off quite a bit. "Umm thanks..." Still soft spoken as ever, Kit gently put the book back where it belonged, straightening up some of the others in that area and making sure that they were all aligned with one another. Sometimes, he had little OCD moments like that, but only with books -- he never cared to be so neat with other aspects of his life, unless he either felt nervous or like he should be doing something. "I uh... wasn't sure how it was... all alphabetized, so uhm... thanks again," he added after a few moments, standing back up and scratching his neck a little nervously.
Luckily, Rosalie seemed as shy as he was, if not more, and for some reason that seemed to help Kit feel a little more comfortable with the situation. At least, he figured, she wouldn't be the type to throw him into the spotlight for some reason or other, that, and he doubted that she would be the type to make fun of him. Perhaps not too oddly, Kit had attracted some students who liked to give him a hard time, be it due to his status as an S Class pacifist, or out of a distaste for people like him, or his species. Admittedly, he could understand the last point a bit -- he had only ever heard "demon" used negatively, rarely positively, although that may have been related to his upbringing in two intensely religious environments.
"Oh um..." Kit thought for a few moments about her question, trying to think if he knew of anything she might like. Then again, Kit wasn't a mind-reader and he came up with the ingenious idea of asking a question in return, primarily to help narrow down the options. "Well um... I know a lot of romance novels with um... male pairings, like same-sex relationships... I know some with males and females..." he thought a little more, "so um... I could prolly help a little more if I know what you'd be interested in... I erm, wouldn't want to offend you," he fell quiet a few seconds later. Normally, he figured people would simply offer what they liked to read right off the bat, but Kit didn't want to point towards a m/m novel only to accidentally offend this student. He simply didn't want his face shoved inside of a shelf. "And oh um... happy stories... or sad stories, or... um... yeah... ?" he added with a shrug, trying to think of other ways to categorize the novels he had read and coming up with basically nothing.
Should I introduce myself? I feel like I should but... that'd be a little out of place, wouldn't it? Well, maybe she'll introduce herself... unless she already did and I missed it, which he had done before in some conversations. Every time that happened, it never failed to make him feel incredibly stupid.
