But I'll do what I wanna do
'Cause I wasn't built to loseSwing, swing, swing, keep up a constant offensive to prevent him from collecting himself. This was her tactic, and it seemed to be working as her arm blade sudden dug a deep gash into Alexander's chest. She could feel it as it tore through his shirt and his skin, could feel it cut deep into him. But not too deep, she noticed quickly, and suddenly her mind was spinning. Why did he let that one through? What was his game here? She had to find his strategy fast in order to counter it, but she really couldn't see the logic in his sudden move.
And for a brief moment thereafter she couldn't see much as stars danced in her vision. She felt herself fall forward into his waiting grasp and felt that strong arm close around her. What had hit her so hard as that? Was there another person there? No, she hadn't sensed anyone else, and it was rare that anyone was able to creep up on her without her sensing them. It had to be Alexander's doing, though she'd been keeping him completely busy, she couldn't conceive of how he was able to do that. Unless . . .
It didn't really matter at that moment as her feet left the ground again. Alexander was lifting her with one arm, but he wasn't letting to go this time. Naiomi was not completely aware of what was happening, but that didn't matter too much. At the speed at which the fight was going she'd given up long ago on conscious thought in her actions. There was reasoning, but she didn't think much. Instinct took over when it needed to and helped her body make its moves and attacks. Instinct saw openings much quicker than her eyes would, by the time her brain registered the fact and concocted a plan.
So it was instinct alone that guided her actions as she was hoisted into the air and over Alexander's form. He was only holding her with one arm, which meant she had more room to move than normal, allowing her to twist her body just enough that she could arch her back to the extreme that her human form would allow and swing around with her feet. Before her head could be slammed into the ground, then, her feet landed firmly and she tensed, pushing back against him to stop her completely unless he was going to slam his own head into the ground first.
Meanwhile there was an opening for her tail that she couldn't abandon. He had intentionally allowed her into his guard for this attack, so her tail swung around to try and get him with more poison, to slow him down. It was all she really could do at that time, her vision still dark around the edges from where the sword had struck her. Her body tensed up and she put her own superhuman strength to work on a gamble, her arms clutching him and looking to lift him up while standing upward herself and then slam him to the ground. A gamble, but otherwise there wasn't much she could do aside from swing with her tail.
