Terry nodded in agreement, when she said that everyone pissed her off. He could sort of relate to a degree, people didn’t piss him off but he did feel at odds with most of them. I can understand that He spoke lightly watching her reaction it was pretty interesting to see her smile and it did his heart good to see her smile. He showed no reaction to this, he knew she would react negatively. His body hurt like hell though, tomorrow would probably be much worse including sickness and things like that but he was fine with that. Nothing Terry couldn't handle with a little paitence and pain killers.
When she reacted to him saying he would keep their little chat here a secret he was surprised. Well I still won’t tell anyone even if you don’t care I don’t want to cause you any problems. He kept his face calm when she said they were not friends, it hurt emotionally but he had been expecting this. It hurt because she was the first person he had really had a chance to talk with and the fight had felt good…emotionally not physically. Still he knew to expect this though she wouldn’t want to hang around with someone lowly like himself and he had not expected her to do so either but still.
I understand then after today I promise I won’t bother you again then There was no smile on his face this time. He didn’t show much of anything. Instead Terry sighed and shrugged looking out at the pond. I did promise I’d do what you said if you beat me. I won’t bother you again This time he smiled and gave her a look of resignation. He was never wanted around anyway people considered him a strange fellow, quiet and odd they rarely..no they never wanted anything to do with him and he was used to this cold shoulder routine.

Even as she verbally berated him and insulted him, Terry seemed to remain cheerful. He looked up at her and seemed to be accommodating her words, like she hadn't just shot him down blatantly. It threw her back slightly. She was so used to people reacting negatively to her, well, negativity. Instead, he just offered her a solution. He didn't even seem bothered by the idea that they weren't friends. She didn't hurt his feelings? Did he not care? Yvette couldn't help but feel slightly insulted by his lack of response. There were no arguments from him. No statements that they were friends. But friends wouldn't fight like that, would they? Yvette wouldn't really know because she didn't really have any friends. She didn't consider anyone her friend... but Terry. Maybe he could be a friend? Friends were accommodating, right? And that's what he was.
As he promised never to bother her again, Yvette quickly regretted her words. She... kind of wanted him to bother her again. He smiled at her in resignation and she felt a pang of guilt for her words. She had been too short with him, but she wasn't willing to admit she was at fault. "Just, uh... forget what I said, okay?" she said quickly, her temper threatening to boil over again. She probably sounded like an idiot to him - constantly flipping on him, but she couldn't decide how she felt, and that was an issue for her. She was usually positive about her emotions. She knew what she felt and what it meant. Granted, she usually felt angry and knew that it meant someone pissed her off, but at least there was certainty behind it. This was completely out of her element.
She sat back down next to him, this time slightly closer than before. "I tend to just... blurt things out."

As Terry watched Yvette she seemed to be at odds internally for a moment though she scarcely showed it, it was her visible pause that gave it away. It caused the normally soft spoken young man to wonder if he was at fault, he hadn't meant to offend or upset Yvette. Perhaps he had misjudged her thoughts on this matter? it was hard to say when he knew so little of her. Perhaps she wanted him to do something? but why? a girl as strong and beautiful like her could probably get anyone to hang around. So why him? he wasn't special or anything on the opposite he was a shadow, probably not even a full person in some considerations.
As she spoke next everything clicked into place and Terry felt like he unstood her much more now. The two of them were exactly the same, just their manner of defense just happened to be the exact opposite. Terry was withdrawn and quiet preferring to stay out of sight, and Yvette went around beating people down and using her anger as her buffer. In the middle they met, both alone and isolated by their own defensive nature and they both had trouble turning that nature off. Perhaps it was a premature assumption but, he couldn't help but feel like that was the case and if that was the case then her statement had taken so much courage that if he didn't meet her half way he would be pretty much spitting on her effort. Her sitting just a little closer was he encouragement needed.
Then, consider it forgotten Terry spoke the words lightly, he was a little worried about how she might react but there was no way he would leave this unsaid. I'm sorry the words he said were not specifically directed at her, but towards them both as if he was trying to voice both of their apologies to each other that had been may have been left unsaid. His for not understanding her feelings, and hers for lashing out at him.
Blushing because he was embarressed he quickly spoke the first thing that came to his mind. Now that we are...well I mean I guess friends I guess I have to keep letting you win any fights we have He chuckled a little at that statment he even laughed a little at this. It felt good to actually laugh, he didn't even know if it was funny but it felt good to say out loud.

His apology meant more than she could express verbally. She could see what his apology meant, too. She knew it was more than a 'sorry for nothing'. It was an apology for both of them, and he was brave enough to say it. She had to give him credit. Yvette wasn't strong or brave enough to apologize. Apologies had always been something beyond her; above her. She wasn't the kind of person to admit her faults, but she was fast to internally hate herself. That hate turned to anger and she expressed it by lashing out the most random of people. The most innocent and the most guilty. It didn't matter who the person was. It didn't matter if they were stronger or faster than her. Her defense was to push them away, keep them at a distance. From far away, they wouldn't be able to see her flaws.
But it was nice to have someone close.
It was nice to have someone she could actually talk to. Their conversations were strained and awkward, but that was only to be expected from people who didn't interact positively with others. The attempts to keep things civil was hard enough. Keeping her anger in check was a challenge she had never really accepted until now. She saw him blush and she smirked slightly. She looked away though, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Then his words brought a slight snicker from the girl. He even laughed with her. It was a funny sentiment. "You will 'let' me win, huh? I don't think you'd have to let me for me to win." Yvette was a confident person... bordering on cocky. Actually, she was cocky. The bravado was often suffocating to most. She pushed him playfully, feeling herself relax a bit. Is this what girls did? Is this the kind of conversation normal people had? Did normal people 'play' and laugh? It was such a strange idea. "I should have let you use your toys," she teased him about his knives.

Terry chuckled lightly when they laughed together, it was such a pleasant sound to hear them laughing together. He was pushed playfully and allowed him self to fall to the ground feigning injury. Oooof! alright alright, alright your the alpha here!He said it lightly sitting back up, laughing a little as he did. Was this how people interacted? it had been so long he couldn't remember what it was like to have a normal conversation with someone and have fun with it. There were awkward parts of course but that was to be expected and if they really wanted to they could break that unseen barrier or awkwardness, in time.
She couldn't have known how damaged the nerve she was touching was when his knives came up.The already pale skin he had grew whiter ever so slightly. The thought made him want to throw up, unconsciously one of his hands came to rest against his stomach as if to hold back the onslaught of sickness. Knives he should have thrown them away the moment he got them but he couldn't bring himself to do so. Terry remembered back at the beginning of their encounter he had been so close to trying to kill Yvette in a single blurred motion he would have ended a life with such a slight poke.
Now after returning to his true mind set, Terrys heart began to accelerate it's thumping at this thought of killing Yvette. Terry wouldn't let it show, he fought so hard against the feelings that were bubbling up, the ensuing panic and desperation. Why did he have to be born into his family? why did his genes have to be etched so deeply with the art's of death! why did he need to take after his mother! Terry struggled not to increase his breathing and to stay calm, even Yvette would surely be thrown off and would stay away if she knew what his past entailed. No one could blame her, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. Terry was wounding himself with what if's so silently and quietly, it was a terrible downward spiral that he would only make worse and worse for himself.
h-heh well.. he choose his words carefully and tried to make them sound like a joke and that he wasn't actually hurting. That would just... y-you know give you more of a right to beat me up even worse... It wasn't Yvettes fault it was his, this peaceful moment had been torn asunder because of his pitiful weakness. Still unwilling to ruin this fun and friendly moment for Yvette he gave her a bit of a smile. He wouldn't allow her to see her words had shaken him, why did he have to be so weak? why did he allow himself to ruin this...
