The sun was warm and soft today, not hot nor cold but a beautiful relaxing day. The wind had taken a rest for the day as not a breeze could be felt anywhere on the school grounds, making this warm day all the more pleasant for all those lucky enough to be under the sun. The ponds waters were still and serene as the sun reflected off of it like a beautiful sapphire it sparkled and shimmered in the midday sun.
The grass was lush and green, the flowers taking this time to open up and soak in the sun to feed themselves for another day. Everything was oddly peaceful for a school usually bustling with life and energy. Unfortunately classes were going on today causing most of the students to be stuck inside on this lovely day and waste it away. The area around the pond was silent, not a sound to be heard except for the scraping of metal on stone that tore through the silence with ease.
Terry was not one of those students trapped inside today, he skipped off class for the day to enjoy and relax sitting by the ponds edge. His jacket off and placed neatly in the grass folded up, he was wearing a completely blank white shirt. Eyes sparkling in the sun light when ever he looked up to the sun. A cigarette burned idly in between his lips as Terry fiddled with something in his hands, on of his legs stretched out straight so his shoe just barely grazed the edge of the unmoving waters of the pond the other in a upside down V shape tight to his body.
A top of his folded jacket was a set of lock picks, something inherited from his father Terry had brought to school secretly. As well as a set of six long thin bladed knifes all similar in shape, size and length they were steel blades. Thin and deadly looking about a foot in length each from top to bottom. Gently Terry took the knives something inherited from his mother and also brought to the school in secrecy the knives made him sick in a way and yet he couldn't part with them nor could he neglect the blades. Which was why he was sharpening the weapons with a small grind stone, careful not to nick the blades he carefully worked on the weapon only pausing to inhale and then exhale.
A far better way to spend the day then in class that was for sure. Sneaking out had been easy the locks were not exactly complicated, and the magical wards only existed to stops students from leaving the grounds. Child's play to skip off class, in fact it had almost been boringly easy. Though he had wanted the day to relax the truth was Terry secretly wished that something exciting would happen to change the pace of his daily life here at the school.

Skipping class was really nothing new for Yvette. It had become a real nasty habit of hers. She's been skipping class since she was in kindergarten. When it came to tests, Yvette would take them and usually pass, but she also didn't care much about them. Each year, she barely passed to the next one. She didn't try and she didn't want to. Usually when she skipped class at the Academy, she would just stay in her room and do nothing - maybe play with her knives and perform a little vandalism to her roommate's things. But the weather was so 'nice' today that she just couldn't stay indoors. Weather usually didn't have an affect on Yvette either. The sun didn't make her sigh happily and the sight of the light reflecting from the still water of the pond didn't bring a serene feeling to rise within her. If anything, it just pissed her off, like everything else in this world. But for some reason, she felt compelled to go outside and enjoy the weather while she still could. Leaving her room usually meant she was going to get caught by some off duty teacher. She would probably be dragged to the vice principle or something and they would wag their finger in her face and tell her how important it was to go to class.
She would roll her eyes and put on an attitude. It was really the only thing she was good at.
Getting out of the school wasn't that big a deal. All she had to do was pick a few locks and avoid anyone walking in the halls. It wasn't that hard. She'd become better at picking locks since she came to the school because she'd had a lot more practice. They liked to lock everything in this school. That was fine. It just meant more things for her to pick. Yvette wouldn't really go and call herself sneaky, but she did sneak around the school grounds a lot. She preferred to think of herself as more of an abrasive person. She didn't like going around things when she could just charge at them head on.
Yvette made her way down to the pond. She was wearing a typical black shirt with denim shorts that looked frayed and worn. Squinting her amber eyes, Yvette fought against the bright sun as it attacked her sensitive eyes. She'd been indoors all day. It was a sudden change to be outside. Licking her lips, she moved to the pond, but she stopped in her tracks as she saw she was coming up behind someone. He was sitting there. She couldn't see what he was doing, but he looked to be fiddling with something. Probably doing homework like a good boy. That's how everyone in this school was. They were all goody toe shoes. It was so boring. Huffing, she realized she didn't recognize him from the B class, which meant he must have been in a lower class than her - even more reason for her not to like him. He was annoying her already.
She stomped up behind him. "Shouldn't you be in class," she hissed. "I thought everyone in this school made it a goal to be the best in their class." She crossed her arms over her chest. She soon realized he was smoking a cigarette and sharpening knives. "Oh, looks like we have a bad ass on our hands," she taunted mercilessly.

Terry's wish was granted more or less, a woman stomped up behind her and spoke to Terry, her words filled with venom. The sudden and abrupt manner which she appeared and then her harsh words that followed struck Terry rather hard and he retorted quickly. hmp thats a little hypocritical considering you are here as well He scoffed visibly and stood quickly, in a single motion and turned to face the girl slipping the knife down his sleeve in a single motion. Looking her over quickly it was a girl he had never seen before, so she wasn't a C class student like him self. For such foul words she was a pretty girl but judging by her initial statement looks was a far as that beauty would run.
I have no interest in this school, nor being a what you would call a bad ass... This was quite opposite to Terry's normal calm demeanor. So instead he taunted back maybe this was what he wanted, something to break the change of pace and here she was. This girl had a foul mouth and an angry looking disposition, more or less what he had wanted just not the shape, form or manner Terry had expected.
Terry watched the girl carefully for her movements in case she tried to rush him. Normally he was a quiet young man that avoided fighting, but today was a day that confrontation felt good. There had been a growing restlessness within him and it wanted out today.but from the way you speak seems like you are a bully and all bullies are a least a bit insecure, whats the matter? can't stand up to people your own class? gotta pick a fight with someone else? In truth he didn't know what this girls race was, or how dangerous she was. Terry watched her with guarded eyes he didn't trust her to turn his back on her.
I don't know what your problem is, or what you want but I'm not going to just let you come here and taunt meIf she was a B class student he would have a tough fight on his hands, an A or S class Terry wouldn't any real chance but that was a risk he was willing to take. Though in the depths of his heart the thought of fighting made him uneasy he pushed those feelings aside for the time being as he stood his ground against the venomous girl. He would deal with regrets about fighting later if it did indeed come to that.

She listened to his quick retorts and Yvette was slightly surprised. Usually when she would approach someone so abrasively, they would back away instantly. Most people at this school didn't like fighting unless they were strong enough to handle it. Did that mean this guy had enough skill to think he could take a fight? Then again, just by looking at Yvette's frame, it was easy to assume she couldn't put up much of a fight. Truth was quite the opposite. She used her frail looking form to her advantage, throwing off her opponents who were quick to think she was weak and easy to overpower. He came to a stand and turned on her quickly in one fluid motion. He stood a good head above her but that didn't stop her from glaring up at him. She placed her hands on her hips decisively, leaning forward to show she wasn't going to be intimidated by his larger frame.
It was interesting for her to hear that he had no interest in this school. Neither did she, but she wasn't about to turn around and agree with him. Hey, let's be friends since you don't like this place either! No. That wasn't Yvette's style. When he accused her of being a bully, Yvette was taken slightly aback. She blinked once before narrowing her eyes dangerously at him. No one had come out and said she was a bully before. She knew she picked on a lot of people, but she never really saw herself in such a negative light as to consider herself a bully. But his assessment of her insecurity was true even if she couldn't see it herself. She was insecure beyond belief, but she wasn't even willing to address such an issue. So she laughed haughtily, just trying to prove how wrong he was in his assumption.
"So defensive!" she mocked with false shock. "Why don't you just get lost before I kick your ass." Why did she try and be the top dog all the time? If she was a male, people would accuse her of having too much testosterone and always attempting to be the alpha. He was in her place right now. She wanted to be alone and he was ruining her day by hanging around the only place she wanted to be right now. She attempted to shoulder by him as she dared to turn her back on him as she approached the edge of the pond. Her goal had been to throw him off balance slightly. But by turning her back to him, she was showing him she wasn't afraid of some lower class student. If he was an A or S she might have thought twice, but her instincts told her that he wasn't. Perhaps it was foolhardy to turn her back to him, but that's just how she was - foolhardy.

Terry visibly smirked when she returned fire. Me defensive? again you speak hypocritical words. I can see you scrambling to hold your ground against the truth in my words.. it's almost.... Terry paused on purposed for dramatic effect.sad Terry was a quiet person who was clam and collected, but this girl her presence brought out something within him all of the hidden anger he felt was bubbling up as she spoke to him. Terry pulled the burning cigarette from his mouth and pinched the tip putting it out, he put it away in his pocket with the pack of others.
She threatened him, and made a bold move by turning her back on him. Terry's instincts almost took over, he envisioned himself moving forward with his thin bladed knife just like he was certain his ancestors had done. He wouldn't though! Terry was not a killer! Fighting this girl was one thing but he would stain his hands no more with blood. He was scared by her in all honesty but there was no way he would let his fear of this girl and what she might be.
Hmp you threaten me, but you seem to be all talk but I guess that should be expected of a bully He was frank to her, always honest Terry was normally he just didn't speak at all instead of a truth people hated because the truth usually pissed most people off. This girl he wanted her angry she was getting on his nerves, or maybe just his nerves so long buried had come to light but it definitely felt damn good to antagonize this girl.
There is no reason for me to leave, I was here first. Heh maybe if you can beat me I'll leave, hell if you beat me I'll do anything you say. If you can prove your more then just talk of course which I doubt, what is it humans say? all bark and no bite Terry taunted her, with a smirk as he looked out across the pond as she did.
His hands found their way into his pockets and Terry pretended to relax.Heh...bold or arrogant you are to turn your back on me. Lucky for you I don't take cheap shots. You probably want me to take a cheap shot, so you can have an excuse when you lose, so your low self esteem doesn't get any lower. This was so far removed from his normal persona, it felt so good if he wasn't trying to antagonize this girl he might have thanked her. If he wasn't trying to antagonize her he might even like her for this, but for the moment in time all he saw in her was a person to exchange words and taunts and maybe even fight.

He sure had a pair of balls. She'd give him that. She was surprised he stuck around. He even returned her fire without a moment's hesitation. He was bold like her. But something told her he was itching for a fight. Well, that made two of them. It had been a long time since she had a chance to beat the living crap out of someone. She got into a few fights in the underground ring her friends ran, but for the most part, she was kept out of it. No one would place bets on people who owned the ring. It was assumed the matches were fixed that way. Yvette wasn't one to lose either. Despite her size, her race was known for the strength and she used her brute force to its full advantage. Her race was sneaky, too. They lured their victims to water to drown. Perhaps that was another reason she was drawn to the pond. It was an element she could control. That wasn't something her current antagonist knew. And she would certainly hold that card close to the chest until the right moment came. The way things were going, she had a feeling a fight was going to break out - not that she minded. She certainly would have fun putting this guy in his place.
This wasn't the first time someone accused her of being all talk. Truth was, for the most part she was, but she also wasn't unwilling to show her true worth. It's just that talking usually got the results she wanted. Why bother wasting more energy on fighting when you could scare them away with your words? But it seemed this guy wouldn't take no for an answer. He seemed excited even and his excitement only boiled over into her own blood.
Maybe if you beat me...
There it was. The challenge. There was no way she'd be willing to back down from a direct challenge. He wanted a fight. Fine. She'll give him a fight he won't forget. Spinning around, Yvette was facing the man once more, glaring daggers up at him even as he smirked confidently at her. She was mere inches from him now. She knew he had a few knives. She had been lucky enough to see him sharpening them. However, she had no weapon on her. She'd been foolish enough to leave her weapons in her room when she left. She had no anticipation of running into anyone. She'd been proven wrong though and that would be her downfall. But she also had the water. A large mass she could easily dominate him with. But again, she would only use that card if it was absolutely necessary.
"Keep talking while you still can! Because soon you won't be able to move that jaw of yours," Yvette hissed dangerously. Quickly, she brought a hand up and aimed for his chest, wrist out and fingers curled slightly. She was aiming to hit him in the chest, maybe knock the wind from him. She leaped back and crouched down, smirking at him. "Come and get me, bad boy," she teased malevolently.

She was silent for a moment before stepping up to the challenge, the smirk on his face faded quickly and he watched her movements. Terry hadn't got into fight in a long time, and it had ended badly but his insincts were as sharp as ever. If it came to a fight he wouldn't use a weapon, not unless she pulled one on him. No matter how it ended he wasn't the type to fight unfairly as long as she played by the same rules. There was no way for him to know whether or not she was a clean fighter, and it might cost him to assume she was but no matter how it went down he wouldn't hesitate!
I'm waiting the-Unable to finish his sentence before she struck him dead on, luckily he was able to roll backwards with the attack absorbing most of the force and diverting it to his backwards roll. Terry sprung back to his feet and dusted his chest a little bit, if they weren't about to fight, if his blood had not been boiling he might respect this girl. Pretty intense, I'll give you that if I hadn't of rolled out of that you would have knocked the wind clean out of me..butyour not that good Terry taunted, his chest hurt quite a bit but it was superficial damage and hardly a crippling wound.
Hmm..well then I guess, I should fight His knife dropped down from his sleeve and he tossed it to the side a show that he would fight fair. He rushed her with his speed, breaking left hitting the ground and then charging directly at her. Terry wasn't the type to rush his foe, and it was a mistake that would cost him in the long run but it was far from his mind now. He jumped a little and swung his right foot like a pendulum at the womans head, using the kinetic energy from his charge to increase the speed and force of his kick. With his left foot he pulled it from the ground and aimed it as a kick at her chest, the potential pay off was a major two hit combo. The risk was he left himself deadly open.
He had no formal training in fact hand to hand combat was a bit of a new thing for Terry, but in a way it was still similar to knife fighting. Strike fast and hard, normally he would have kept his distance from her and fought more defensively but her taunt had worked at least somewhat though his attack was calculated and carefully used he wasn't a move he would normally make and it left him open.

(I'm not too good with fight scenes. So just bare with me and my crappy posts. =D)
Yvette was smirking as she watched him from her crouched position. His words didn't bother her. She didn't expect her first move to have landed cleanly. She had been clouded by her anger and she attacked him with full force. By the way they had been talking, she was sure he had been prepared for her to attack. It was strange. She had never met this boy before but already, not even after five minutes, they were fighting and exchanging blows. Perhaps this was why she had no friends? Maybe this was why no one liked her? Because by the end of the day, no matter what the consequences were, Yvette always reverted back into her violent tendencies. She always ended up fighting either verbally or physically. Perhaps that's why she was confident in her abilities to defeat this kid. She was sure she fought more than him. By his choice of weapon and by the lock picks she saw sitting on his jacket, Yvette got the assumption that the boy used stealth more than force. She was quiet the opposite. While she liked to think she was sneaky, she preferred to use the strength that was inherent in her race to her advantage.
He came at her and she was ready. She rose to a stand and planted her feet, standing on the balls so she was ready to move in any direction. She was surprised he attacked her from such a frontal position. Perhaps her words had gotten to him much like his had to her? He swung his foot toward her head and she managed to duck under the blow, but his other foot landed against her chest. Yvette took the momentum of the blow and lowered herself to the ground, almost losing her balance. Once on the ground, she swung her foot, aiming to knock his feet from him. The plan was once both his feet were back on the ground, he wouldn't have the time to avoid her sweeping leg. With her other leg, Yvette thrust it upward, aiming for his head. She wanted to throw him off balance as much as possible.

(I know that feel same as you so we can get through this hah) Terry realized his mistake as she ducked, he had gotten to aggressive and there was no way to remedy this. His left foot hit the mark but it wasn't the power house of his attack and he didn't expect it to do much, still it knocked her back giving him more a chance to recover from his attack. Her leg sweep came fast and knocked Terry off of his feet, he fell back onto his hands Terry twisted his body into a handstand and launched himself backwards away from the girl before her kick could land.
Terry was to his feet a few feet back from her. His arm hurt twisting his body like that had been unnatural even if he had been flexible he had to make a fist a few times to make sure it was working properly. I take it back, you at least have some ability to fight, your not completely all talk.. Even in a fight Terry was an honest young man. Don't think it's going to be easy though... This time Terry took a stance, spreading his feet apart, Terry's hands went from fists to open palms, as he took a stance. He couldn't over power her, that was obvious he still didn't know what race she was but physically she was certainly stronger. Come and get me, it's your turn to charge he challenged her. If Terry was to stand a chance he had to fight smarter! it was the only way..
It was strange that this fight was so interesting, this was the most he had interacted with a person since coming to this school. He had no friends and kept anyone who had tried to talk to him at a distance, how odd that this interaction as a fight was the most contact he had with someone.

(Good. I'm not alone then. ^_^)
Yvette allowed herself a satisfied smirk as she saw him fall back awkwardly. Yet he managed to dodge her second attack and he leaped back with ease. She huffed in frustration. She'd been hoping that the kick to the face would have been enough to end the fight. Surely she packed enough force behind it. She didn't know what race he belonged to, but she was sure he was of a lower class. That alone was enough to tell her that she was going to win this fight. Yvette was a confident girl and sometimes that confidence blinded her, but most of the time, it offered her the courage she needed to overcome most obstacles. This boy was just another obstacle in her way. Why she insisted on resorting to violence baffled even her when she thought about it long enough. What exactly did she gain by insisting on fighting other students? It didn't help her in the long run. It was just a temporary solution to her inner turmoil. Of course she would never examine herself that closely to get such an explanation. She avoided those deep, inner thoughts of her as best she could. They were depressing and dangerous.
His words only brought another smirk to her lips. She was enjoying this. Perhaps too much. Slowly, she came to a stand, her arms hanging at her side languidly. She looked at him, her eyes flickering up and down his form. He was an attractive guy and he seemed to be hiding something under his form. She wanted to know what it was, but she wasn't about to let her curiosity overcome her. Maybe in another life, if they were both human and they went to a normal school, maybe they could have been friends. Hell, maybe Yvette would have had a lot of friends. Maybe she would have been raised by parents who actually appreciated her and didn't ship her off to some school in the mountains. A lot of things could have been different if she'd been born a human.
"Gladly," she purred.
She came running at him then. Aware of his preparation, she knew a full frontal attack wouldn't work. So just as she looked as if she was going to punch him in the face, Yvette slid to the ground. Dirt swirled around her as she did so and her palm reached out and grabbed a small handful of soil. Moving quickly, she dashed to the side and circled around him, staying low to the ground. She then swung a fist for his head while her other hand moved in front of his eyes. She opened her palm and released the dirt she'd been holding, hoping that she would momentarily blind him. Whether it worked or not, Yvette sent a knee jutting upward, aiming to hit him in the stomach just as her fist went for his head again. It was a sudden bombardment of attacks that she was hoping would force him to the ground.
(God, I hope that made sense lol)

(I hope THIS makes sense, I know yours did make a lot of sense it was good. ) He watched her carefully, controlling each breath and his movements to not give her an opening it was an exhilarating fight. The pain even felt good, having been stifled for so long his body was enjoying every minute of this. Depending on how this ended Terry might just have to thank this crazy bitch, just maybe. For now he would keep focused on the fight and keep idle thoughts such as these to the side. Still her power was quite impressive and if she won he knew he would keep his promise to the letter.
Terry leaned forward just slightly as she purred , a half grin upon is face there were far worse people to fight then a pretty girl still he knew not to underestimate her. She charged fast! his eyes followed her movements and he knew what she was planning, instinct drawn from his fathers side of the family told him she was about to fight very dirty. He was ready, when she threw the dirt in his face Terry closed his eyes so the dirt wouldn't blind him longer then a moment. Terry took the knee into the gut, letting a painful grunt as the heavy attack struck him brutally hard and yet still he moved into the attack, his head ducked the punch narrowly, the attack skimmed and he felt it brush by his hair.
His hands went under her knee grabbing tight, he hugged her knee tight to his body and with her own forward momentum he jerked his body backwards pulling her with him by the knee. Terry bent his back and tried to pull the girl with him so her own momentum, coupled with his own force from the throw attack he was using Terry hopped to make her slam her face into the ground. This fight was working against him in many ways, he was definitely not a good hand to hand fighter, but he was determined to hold his own against this girl! Though he still couldn't see the dirt was in his eyes.

(omg, awesome post!)
Yvette grunted as he managed to barely dodge one of her attacks, but she was more than satisfied when she felt her knee connect with his gut. He doubled over and she smirked madly in satisfaction. However, Yvette's triumph was short lived as she felt his hand grip her under the knee tightly. Her amber eyes widened as she was caught off guard. He leaned back and took her with her. For once, her diminutive size was working against her. She wasn't heavy so it was easy for him to lift her off the ground. He pulled her forward and she gasped as she was thrown forward.
She landed on the ground, her head hitting the dirt. She cringed at the sheer force behind the fall, but she was quick to move. Despite the stars she saw in her vision from her head hitting the ground, she kicked her legs so he would let go of her. She was on her feet, stumbling slightly before she chose not to relent in her charge. With as much force as she could manage and with her vision slightly blurred, Yvette charged at him full sprint. She ducked her head slightly, aiming to tackle him before he had a chance to recover from the move he just made. Her move wasn't calculated at all, for she was angered that he had pulled such a move on her and she actually got caught in it. That never happened to her! The rage she felt was overwhelming. So she charged at him.
Little did she know that the pond was right in the path of her charge and if she were to take him down, they would both hit the water.

(thank you! ) Terry felt a satisfying thud a she hit the ground, but the victory was short lived. The pain in his body suggested the impact had done much more then he had hoped it would to him. When the girl kicked Terry had no choice to but to let go of her, his strength was beginning to falter ever so slightly and the dirt was still thick in his eyes. Terry struggled to get to his feet, he gasped when standing straight up his frame was thin so the impacted had hit him very hard and standing up hurt like hell. His movements were slow and painful, Terry was about to wipe away the dirt from his eyes but the sound ahead of him stopped him a moment to long.
Unable to see and not having the chance to wipe away his eyes Terry was unprepared as the woman tackled him hard, sweeping him off of his feet with no problem at all. This time the wind was knocked from Terry's lungs as she hit him with her full force, stars appeared behind closed eye lids. He couldn't even tell what was happening as he was rushed and knocked back with the girl, he had no idea they were heading right towards the water and the force of the blow had stunned him from making any sort of counter movement against this charge. In his mind he thought of how to escape but his body would not respond to his command and so his body was taken by Yvettes charge right to the water...

She was infuriated and that had driven her to act out of her element. She let him get to her. He irked her beyond belief and so she fought blindly in that last moment. She felt his body collide with hers and she pushed off the ground. He was against her and she expected to hit the ground. Her initial plan had been to get him to the ground, mount him and pummel him with fists. It was a foolhardy plan, but when her body connected with his, she thought she had him. As a matter of fact, she was sure she had him. She would surely win this fight. It wasn't about him leaving the pond anymore. It was about coming out victorious and proving her worth. He dared question her and challenge her. So she had to show him just how powerful he was. But when they didn't hit the ground, Yvette finally realized what was happening.
Then, the cold water washed around her as she took the man with her into the pond. Her entire body had been submerged under the water with him and she opened her eyes in shock. Letting go of him, Yvette swam to the surface and she gasped for air greedily when her head broke through the water. She shook her head vigorously and droplets of water flew around her. The cold water had forced her senses to come through and she realized what had happened. She waded in the water and felt her blood boiling. He made her look like a fool. The rage she felt was unbelievable. Now, she really hated this guy.
While she felt at home in the water, she couldn't help but notice the irony. Her kind had been known to drown their victims. But, of course, Yvette wasn't looking to kill someone despite how angry she was.

Terry felt the impact of the water, and when he went down his mouth opened out of natural reaction and in went the water. Terry had always liked the water at least the view of it, he enjoyed swimming as well but calling Terry a good swimmer was a stretch. He sank down in the murky depths disoriented and confused inhaling water as he did it felt like his chest would break under the strain until his head broke the water. Coughing and urging water from his lungs Terry pulled himself up and out of the water to a point he could stand. His body was weakened badly at this point but the fight was not over he could tell that from the air that he so greedly sucked at in desperation. Vision blurred body heavy and water logged Terry couldn't see this ending well, but still he spoke.
HEY! *cough* w...*wheeze* where you going? I'm not done! Despite his body wanting to quit Terry charged her, trying to tackle her and knock the girl down into the water he had no idea she was in her element and had no way to know this. The young man ran with all of his force and lunged at her throwing away all plan and tactics going now to just throw all of his remaining strength at her and let the cards fall as they would. In his right mind Terry would have backed off and let his body recover, however he wasn't a true fighter and had yet to learn how to control his temper within a fight it's self.
His body was wracked with pain from her heavy hits, and he had almost not made it up from the depths of the pond. However he was tenacious, and he wouldn't just give up! not while he could make his body move! Terry threw himself forward to the charge feet pounding the water, he blindly charged almost exactly as Yvette had just done to him. Lowering his torso to increase the weight of his center of gravity Terry threw himself at the girl! with all the force he could muster into a charge
